Hello Monday – 10/13/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We had a great weekend that was everything I was hoping it would be! I’m sharing EIGHT GREAT things with you today!

1-Luke had a soccer game on Friday afternoon. They didn’t win but he played really well. I got a few good action shots, too. No home football game meant that we were all home pretty early and that felt great!

2-I took it pretty easy on Saturday morning, which felt great until I realized how late it had gotten. I made a few dips quickly before Jack went to swim practice and Luke went to watch a friend’s game.

3-We went to the Maryland football game on Saturday afternoon. It has been YEARS since we’ve been to a Maryland game and it was so fun. Jeff and I used to have seasons tickets with a big group of friends before we had kids. We ended up meeting up with three other families from the group to tailgate before the game.

Our seats were pretty high up, but the view of the game was great. We were SURROUNDED by Nebraska fans and I was shocked at how many Nebraska fans were at the game. They were all over the stadium! Unfortunately the Terps didn’t win, but it was still a good time.

4-We were home by 8 pm on Saturday night and all hung out watching more college football for a bit. I went to bed relatively early and it was so lovely!

5-I woke up around 7 am and read for a bit in bed. Then I hit the kitchen to make protein pancakes and gluten free chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. It felt good to make some yummy warm treats on a chilly morning!

6-I went for a walk and did a 30 min yoga class on the Peloton app. I’ve gotten out of the yoga habit and I forgot how good it felt. I love Chelsea Jackson Roberts’ classes and hip hop yoga flow was perfect for my Sunday.

7-I read for a good portion of the day. I’ve had this book for a while from the library and got an overdue notice. I hadn’t even started the book yet, so I took that as my sign. The book and the research are good so far. It is definitely making me think about the boys’ phone usage as well as my own. I am thinking through some new guidelines for all of us when we are home to keep from mindlessly scrolling.

I am also reading this book on my kindle. I got it from the library and had to put my kindle on airplane mode because my loan expired before I finished it. Don’t worry, the book still returns to the library and the next person can read it, but it doesn’t leave my kindle until I take it off airplane mode.

8-I was looking forward to a nor’easter type stormy day. I had a cozy outfit picked out and we had soup and sandwiches for dinner. That rain didn’t start until 6:30 pm, so it didn’t feel as dark and cozy as I was hoping. Our dinner was still yummy and I am looking forward to the leftover soup for lunch one day this week. I think I’ve shared the recipe before but it is Trader Joe’s creamy tomato soup and roasted red pepper and tomato soup with a block of Boursin cheese in it. It is so yummy!

We have another busy week ahead of us and I am getting ready for it. I am working on a meal plan and grocery pickup after I finish typing this. We have a pretty normal week of evening activities. If you blogged, don’t forget to link up with us below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I really need to do yoga. What a fun and sporty weekend! I think it’s great that you are still intentional about reading once the school year starts!

What a FUN Saturday for you and your family!!! I love that you were all able to get together and then experience the game with your boys :). That’s funny about the airplane mode with books – I sometimes do that too if I have less than 25% left of a book. It’s about the only thing that really makes me concentrate on finishing something – ha!
I hope you share about that High Tech book – so incredibly thankful to NOT be raising teenagers right now – it really has to be very difficult. I really don’t want to read any of these books (The Anxious Generation is another one I’ve heard a lot about) but am very interested in hearing about them.
Have a great week – thanks for the link-up 🙂

I really need to get back into the habit of doing Peloton yoga and/or stretching. You’re right, it feels so good when I actually do it.

I just love a college game in person. The atmosphere is the best! It feels like there’s a bit of a shift in the world of tech and kids with parents wanting less screens whenever possible. I read an article the other day about how teens are grabbing some old school tech-like flip phones and digital cameras-to help themselves reduce the screens in their lives. I hope it sticks. Have a nice week!

We enjoyed a cozy, rainy day at home yesterday and the storm is still raging today (and predicted to last sometime tomorrow). I didn’t know that about airplane mode and the borrowed library books. I’m going to have to try that!

The football game looks fun. Love the family pic. I love when the weather calls for rain on a day I can stay home…I just saw our weather and that day might be Sunday! I love the airplane mode trick. I’m currently using it to finish grammar queen
