Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We are saying “Hello Monday” and “Goodbye Summer” today! We sent summer out the best way we know how this weekend – at the beach! It was a windy weekend but we made the absolute best of it.
We were on the road at 6:20 Saturday morning and on the beach at 10:20. I spent 6 straight hours on the beach and it felt so good. It was intermitently cloudy and sunny, but windy the whole time. The ocean was warm and we all got in a few times. The boys spent a good bit of time in there fighting the waves and swimming. I took a little beach walk and read. We played Tidal Ball and paddle ball. It was glorious!

We went to our favorite beach pizza restaurant, Grotto’s, and then played putt putt. Jack won and was one stroke off the course record, but Jeff won a free game for getting his ball in the dragon’s mouth on the 19th hole.

Everyone got at least one hole in one, except me. It was a good time!

We headed to the boardwalk after putt putt and ran into my friend Kerry and her daughter. What a fun surprise that was!! We got beach fries – Thrashers – and soft serve ice cream – Kohr Bros. – to round out a fabulous beachy day!

We slept for over 10 hours and woke up at 8:30 on Sunday morning. Whoa, that was late!! The boys walked to get beach donuts – Fractured Prune – and I went to get our favorite chicken salad from the grocery store. After that, it was beach time! We were on the beach for a little over 5 hours before it was time to get packed up and head home.

I can’t go an entire year without my reading on the beach picture! I only read ebooks this trip so kindle it is!

Jeff picked up lunch/dinner – Grab & Go Taco Stand – and popcorn – Fisher’s – while I packed up and cleaned up. We hit the road and had an easy drive home. We walked in the door around 7:20 and I got started on this post. 😉
I really want to be a regular magazine reader, but I don’t think it’s me right now. Every few years I give it a go and subscribe to a few magazines. This year it was Real Simple and Southern Living. I do love reading them, but I am not very good at making time to read them each month. I read three this weekend and loved them all. The cover of this Real Simple made me giggle though.

This week is a little less busy than the past because the boys don’t have school two of the days. I am hoping the summer weather sticks around even though fall starts this afternoon. I hope you enjoyed your last summer weekend, too! Don’t forget to link up with us below if you blogged today. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I’m so jealous! Love that you did that! Perfect as today is the official first day of fall!
What a fabulous weekend! Looks like you all made the most of it!
What a perfect weekend! Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall!
We say we need a beach weekend still (it’s warm here for another month on the Carolina coastal beaches) but we struggle to find a date. Two of my favorites-Thrashers and Fishers! Now on to fall!
What a lovely beach weekend before the season ends- I am so inspired by how you make beach time happen- kudos!
Happy First Day of Fall! Spending time at the beach was the perfect way to end summer.
It sounds like a fab weekend at the beach, what a great way to send summer out!
That is the perfect way to say goodbye to summer! I just read Atmosphere last week in just a day or two and loved it. I also enjoyed We All Live Here.
