Hello Monday – 7/7/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday! As I am typing this post today, I am watching the Today show and the coverage of the horrific flooding in Texas. It is awful and so unbelievably sad. I am thinking of all of the families that have lost so much.

We started our weekend on Friday with the 4th of July. I am sharing EIGHT GREAT things with you today.

1-I decided to have a modified swim practice and we swam a little and then had some fun. Our big kids LOVE to play the water bottle game. You fill a plastic water bottle with water and take the label off. The kids divide into two teams at opposite ends of the pool. I throw the bottle in and then they have to find it and get it to the other team’s side of the pool. I think it’s similar to capture the flag. I’ve never played capture the flag and I’d never heard of the water bottle game before my kids started playing at practice. It gets a little intese, but they love it.

2-Jeff, Luke, and I spent the day at the pool. Jack was there, too, but he was working. The weather was absolutly perfect! There were a ton of people there for the first few hours and it was so fun! Jeff and I relaxed and read and chatted with friends in the pool. Jeff headed home around 3:30 but Luke and I stayed until Jack got off work. Jeff had dinner ready to go when I took Jack home, so picked up dinner and then went back to the pool. Luke and I pulled another all-dayer! Jeff and Jack came back a little later to finish out the night.

3-We had our first home swim meet on Saturday. My mom and dad came to cheer us on, too. It was another great swim meet and we won! Luke won all of his events and got a best time. All of the swimmers did so well and I am so proud of them!

4-Jack’s relay team broke the team record again this week! The 15-18s told me they wanted to go for the record and we are going for it each week with a different combination of kids. It’s been really fun to watch them swim so fast!

5-We went to two fun graduation parties this weekend. It was fun to celebrate the girls and catch up with our friends. We met these grads and their families at the pool and usually hang out with them there. It was nice to see them outside of the pool. I wore the same dress in two different prints. The navy picture is from a few weeks ago. 😉

6-Luke lost a tooth on Saturday night eating smores. It feels a little funny to be looking up into his mouth to check out the hole. He’s officially taller than me and still has a bunch of teeth left to lose.

7-I went to lap swim on Sunday morning and swam 100 yards. It is still hard, but feels good to be back in the pool. I might try to get back into the pool during the week.

8-Jack had a golf lesson and then spent some time practicing with Jeff on Sunday morning. He’s feeling pretty good and is headed to a tournament this morning. I’m hoping he plays well and has a great time!

That was our weekend. It was a good summer weekend! We went to bed on the earlier side each night and got some good rest. I am planning on another great week! The weather looks iffy with rain in the forecast every day, but we are going to make the best of it. If you blogged today, be sure to link up with us below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

My kids always had swim meets on Wednesday and Thursday practice was all games and then they got donuts. They always loved those practices. I love your graduation party outfits. I love that the swim meets are a family affair and that’s so awesome about the course record! Yay.
