Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

What a great weekend! We welcomed June yesterday with all the summertime activities. ☀️

As usual, I am sharing eight great things from our weekend. I’m starting with Friday and heading through the weekend.

1-I packed Jack’s last lunch ever on Friday morning!! Next year, lunch will be included in tuition so my lunch making career is officially over for Jack! I have 9 more for Luke. The countdown is officially on!

2-Luke and I spent Friday at Hershey Park. The band, orchestra, and chorus went to a musical festival where they performed and then we had time in the park to ride the rides. I had a group of six boys and they were great! Jeff’s sister and our niece were there, too!

Luke’s band won their division! Woohoo!!

3-I didn’t set an alarm on Saturday for the first time in weeks. That is great! I didn’t sleep in but I hung out in bed for over an hour reading and it was so relaxing.
4-The weather was chilly and a little rainy on Saturday but I had great plans for that. My mom and I were heading to the library to meet Kristy Woodson Harvey. She came to town on tour for her new book, Beach House Rules. I met Kristy in 2018 and it was great to see her again. Kristy was funny and so lovely. I enjoyed some bookish time with my mom and can’t wait to read this one!

How cool is this? Lisa, on the right, is Holly’s in person friend who lives near me now. I usually see her at a few book events through the year. She was there on Saturday with another friend of Holly’s. It feels like I need to meet Holly in person soon!!

5-Luke had his lacrosse party on Saturday afternoon. It was chilly for a pool party but he hung in the hot tub most of the afternoon. They boys swam, chilled, and played some lacrosse. This is the last year they’ll play together and they’ve been a team since 3rd grade.

6-Jack and Jeff played golf on Saturday evening with some friends. They had a good time even if it was a little chilly.
7- I was at the pool by 11 on Sunday for swim team swim tests. Great news everyone passed even though the water was FREEZING!!! Luke swam a few laps before deciding it was just too cold. Jeff met us there when the pool opened and we relaxed and read for a few hours. I am trying to read more nonfiction this summer and I got this one from the library. It is definitely a quick read with little pieces of advice/lessons that Gretchen learned.

Jack went to a graduation party and the worked at the pool. It was sweatshirt weather and the two boy lifeguards there were dressed in the same outfit. It made me laugh, but they requested no photo.
8-After dinner on Sunday, Jeff and I went for a walk and the boys played outside with our neighbor. They used to play this baseball game with ghost runners and three teams all the time. I haven’t seen them play in a long time so it was great to see them out there until dark!

This week is shaping up to be absolutely bonkers. Jeff has an overnight conference, Jack has finals, Luke has a final, I have a staff meeting, and swim team practice starts in the evenings. I am hoping to be back on Wednesday for Currently, but I am not promising anything. I have lunches and dinners planned, so hopefully that helps. If you blogged today, please link up below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

This makes me SOO HAPPY- three of my favorite ladies right there! Yes we sooo need to meet already 🙂 Besides your book event, I love the rest of your 8 great too- Happy Summer! How many more work days do you have? I will help you count down!
Hershey Park sounds like so much fun! I love that you and your mom get to attend so many book events too.
Always fun to go to a book event with the author. Glad you got some pool time in spite of the cool temps. Sounds like things are winding down school wise and are ready for the summer fun to begin!
What a great weekend! I have always thought Hershey Park looks like such a fun place. Enjoy your Monday!
Congrats to Luke’s band…that sounds like such a fun event! I sooooo jealous you met KWH. She came to Lex last summer but it was when we were out of town. I was bummed. I hope you have a great week…summer schedule is almost here!
I miss making my kids lunches now, I never thought I would when I was in the thick of it.
The music festival sounds like fun and well done to the band for winning!
How lovely to spend time at the pool and for the boys to play outside until dark.
I hope this week goes well!
The book event looks so fun…I just love KWH! You will love Beach House Rules! It was so bittersweet when I packed my son’s last lunch back in 2022 when he graduated. Hang in there for the busy last days of school.
