Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday! I did not mean to take a little blogging break and miss some of my favorite linkups last week, but re-entry to the school and sports world took a minute to adjust to. I have a few countdowns going now that spring break is over. 26 days until the pool opens. Not counting today, 33 days of school left. It’s going to be a wild ride, for sure!

I haven’t shared quite a few things from last week, but I am going to save them for my What’s Up Wednesday post. I’m sticking with my usual EIGHT GREAT things from this weekend.

1-I got to spend some time with my fellow librarians and a whole lot of kids who love reading on Friday night. Our library, Friends of the Library, and our school system partner to host Battle of the Books. The teams of students read 10 books and have to answer 40 very specific questions about those books in teams. It is always a fun night!

2-Luke got back to his Friday night volunteering at a soccer program for kids with disabilities. He had a great time and always comes home with a smile!

Jack and Jeff headed to the golf course in coordinating outfits! They say it wasn’t on purpose, but I’m not sure I believe them.

3-Luke had a soccer game on Saturday and played pain-free for a bit. It was so good to see him out on the field running without pain or limping. His team won, so that’s always fun!

4-I did the Red Shoe Shuffle for the Ronald McDonald House with some friends on Sunday morning. We ran most of the 5K and had a great time. It was a little emotional, but I am so glad we did it. The Ronald McDonald House is such a wonderful place and I am happy to support it.

6-Luke played his first lacrosse game on Sunday. He hasn’t been to a practice or game yet this season because of conflicts and his activity restrictions. He showed up and played really well. He even scored a goal! That was fun!

7-Jack was sequestered in his room for most of the weekend. He was taking the pool operator class so that he can help cover some manager shifts at our pools this summer. When he emerged around 3:30 pm on Sunday, he had a big smile and got a 100% on the test.
8-I took Jack to the golf course on Sunday evening to hit balls and practice putting. He has three matches this week and wanted to be ready. It was GORGEOUS out and I read while he put the work in.

Goals Update
I set some goals on Wednesday last week and will share my accountablility each Monday for the rest of the school year. Last week was not my best, but here’s my progress:
- Lifting weights before school – Nope, I need to get to bed earlier to make this work.
- Sticking to the meal plan for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – Yes.
- Using my Crest white strips every day – Nope, I forgot a few days.
- 24 ounces of water before 10:30 am – Yes and it was good.
- 10,000 steps every day – Yes, even on Friday when I didn’t log a workout.
This week is going to be a busy one with three golf matches, swim practice, soccer practice, lacrosse practice, a few extra meetings for Jeff and me, and PT appointments. I am hoping to blog a few days to share what I’ve been reading, what we’ve been up to, and my favorites from the week. We’ll see how it goes! Don’t forget to link up below if you blogged today! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Your spring break is so late! But, I guess you get out later, too? What a nice week. This time of year is soooo busy!
Our spring break is always around Easter, so late Easter late break. We get out June 13th this year and kids started after Labor Day. We don’t get many breaks in the year, but our summer is pretty long.
Friends of the library…how fun! The Jack and Jeff pic is perfect. The 5k was friends for an amazing cause is a great way to spend a Saturday!
Our Friends of the Library organization does so much to support the library and its outreach. I am a proud member!
So awesome!
Your library event sounds like so much fun. How nice everyone can coordinate to make this happen. I’m glad your son is feeling better and able to be back to the things he loves. This next month is always so busy so hang in there!
May is always a wild ride. There’s a lot of fun stuff in there to enjoy though!
Wow! I can see why you haven’t had time to blog- so busy but all good and fun! Happy to read about Luke’s progress- I am sure he is happy too. Congrats to Jack for acing the pool test too!
You are right! I need to remember that it is all good and fun!
Friday night sounds like so much fun with all the librarians!
Jack and Jeff look so proud of their matching outfits and well done with the run for such a great cause.
Thank you! It really is such a great cause. I was honored to participate!
I love your list of goals and holding yourself accountable. Maybe I should do that!
I’ll be honest, it didn’t feel good to type that I didn’t achieve my goal, but using the blog to hold myself accountable should help.
Your lists and goals are awesome! Trying to drink a lot of water by a certain time in the morning is a great one!
Thanks! The time bound goal helps me stay hydrated throughout the day and not chug water at 9:30 pm.
That looked like a fun time with your Librarian pals!
We’ve also been busy watching grandchildren sports, dance and school plays, etc. It’s fun for us to see them blossom!
We had a great time!
The next month will be busy! Love the matching shirts, and congrats to Jack for passing the pool test. Hope you have a good week.
May always is and I seem to forget that until we are in the thick of it. I hope your week is going well!
That sounds like a great weekend.
