Hello Monday – 4/7/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I am sharing eight great things from the last few days with you today. I love looking for the positive in every situation and this is a great way to find the good stuff in every weekend!

1-I mentioned on Wednesday that I was listening to Jack cheer for the Washington Capitals as Alex Ovechkin was getting close to breaking Wayne Gretzky’s record for most goals scored. We had a blast watching as he scored two goals on Friday night and tied the record. He broke the record with a goal in the game on Sunday and it was so cool to watch. They did a mid-game ceremony to honor Alex and Gretzky. If you aren’t a hockey fan or are learning a lot about hockey this year (like me), Alex Ovechkin is number 8 and he is called THE GR8, a perfect fit to start off my EIGHT GREAT!

I love this logo they created for 895!

2-We had a half day on Friday and Luke went to the Minecraft movie with some friends. The mom who bought the tickets got them for the 3D movie. Luke said it was AWESOME!! All of the boys went to a friend’s house after and hung out for hours. It was a great way to spend that early dismissal day.

3-I had an eye doctor appointment on Friday afternoon. My eyes stayed dilated FOREVER so I spent the evening in our darkest room, the library, and read on my kindle. Was it my most productive evening? Nope, but I did enjoy it. The good news is I still don’t need readers. I really thought I would, but my doctor changed my prescription a bit and it’s great. The bad news is my eye is still twitching, going on 2 months, and she said it’s likely stress or lack of sleep. I guess I need to work on that…

4-Jeff and I had a breakfast date on Saturday morning. We went to one of our favorite breakfast spots. Lenny’s is near our first house together and the same guys have been working there for 20 years. It’s always fun to see them and enjoy a delicious breakfast. I always get a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and Jeff gets a western omlette. It’s perfect every time! It was nice to have some time to just talk together. I didn’t bring my calendar and we didn’t touch our phones so there was no planning at all. Just good talking!

5-After Lenny’s, we headed over to Trader Joe’s. The tulips are back and I picked up two bunches of pink tulips. They are starting to open and make me so happy!

6-I did a lot of work for the pool this weekend. It is a busy time, but it means we are getting closer to opening day. According to my countdown, the pool opens in 47 days!

7-Friday was National School Librarian day and April is School Library Month. I celebrated by wearing one of my favorite library shirts! If you work at a school or have kids that go to school, be sure to thank their librarian this month! I beth they agree that it is the best job in the school, but it is a tough time to be a librarian in some places!

I do love my flair pens!

8-I tried a new dinner on Sunday and it was a win for me! I used this recipe for sheet pan Hawaiian chicken as a starter. I doubled the chicken, added a little extra of everything in the sauce (just a pinch or a dash), cooked it in a 9×13 Pyrex dish, and served it over rice. The boys each had seconds and there is enough left for two lunches this week.

I am looking forward to this week. Jack has two matches. The Masters is this week. We have a fun Friday and weekend planned. It’s going to be busy, but great! If you blogged today, don’t forget to link up with us below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
