Friday Favorites – 3/14/25

Happy Friday! Another five day week is in the books! I’ve actually worked TWO five day weeks in a row – who am I becoming??? It was a good week and I have some favorites to share with you. So let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: SUNSHINE!! Oh my gosh, the sun came out this week and I felt like a completely new person! Not only did it come out, but it stayed out for a few days! The temps warmed up and we soaked it up! It was glorious!!

Favorite 2: BOOKS!! I finally finished The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins. It’s that book on procrastination that I had to renew at the library multiple times because I procrastinated reading it. Ha! Guess what, I loved the book and I want to read it again. When I find a nonfiction book that I want to read again, I often buy it. So this book is going on my buy list. Luke and I finished the last book in the Spy School series yesterday. We loved it, too. I started a new book this week about Barbie and I am so excited to get into it! My library holds have been coming in like wildfire this week. Luckily, I’ve been able to delay delivery for a few so that I don’t miss out on these great books!

The doorbell caught me reading in that sunshine this week.

Favorite 3: JACK! Golf season is in full swing – haha see what I did there – and it’s going well. Jack had a scrimmage this week and tied the team record (1 over par). I am so proud of him!

Favorite 4: LUKE!! Luke had his surgical follow up yesterday and everything is looking great! He gets to start running, playing soccer, and playing lacrosse again. He still has a week or so until he’ll be back in the pool. He’s excited! I am excited! Jeff’s excited! We’re all so happy for him to be back in action! Luke and I had a dinner date on Tuesday night at a fundraiser for the instrumental music program at his school. It was a great night!

Favorite 5: VESTIES! I had a great walk with my friend Jodi and our weighted vests. Don’t we look like two fabulous early/mid-forties ladies out working on our bone density? Well, that’s what we are! Have you seen the meme about ladies walking and solving the problems of the world? That’s what we did. Has anyone called us for the solutions? No they sure haven’t, but we are ready to share when the phone rings! I love walking with friends. It’s so good to catch up, we are doing good things for our bodies, and I get to see my friends!

Favorite 6: SWEATERS! I have been wearing light sweaters this week and I am loving them all! I wore the red one for Jack’s first golf match (that I didn’t go to), the pink and green on Wednesday, and the orange on Thursday. I was so comfortable all day in all three!

Favorite 7: BRACELETS! I am mixing and matching my bracelets this week and I’m having fun picking out good ones. I have some from Kathryn Robnett, some from a few different local bracelet makers, and some from an etsy shop.

Favorite 8: RETAINERS! I never thought I would say this is a favorite at 44 years old! I went to the dentist recently and was talking about how my teeth are moving again. I got my braces off at 14, wore my retainers until I was almost 30, and NOW my teeth are moving. What the heck?? The dentist recommended that I start wearing my retainers again if I could. They don’t feel so good and I can’t sleep in them, but I am wearing them for a little while in the evening while I read before bed. I think they are making a difference, so I’ll call them a favorite. But seriously, what the heck??

Favorite 9: SHOES! I love my St. Patrick’s Day Brooks sneakers and have been wearing them as much as possible the past few weeks. I broke out the OG holiday shoes from 2019 this week and I love them!

Hello Monday – A Day in the Life

If you can’t tell, we had a great week! The sunshine, the books, the good news, all of it! Jack has a swim meet this weekend and I am looking forward to cheering him on. I am hoping to get out for a run or two this weekend, too. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Lots of fabulous favorites this week! I have been soaking up the sun too and it has been wonderful to get outside without having to wear a thick winter coat.

I never realize how much the sunshine and 70 improves my mood until we get a stretch of days where I get out for a walk or open my classroom window. Congrats to Jack, and I’m happy to hear Luke can get back into all his activities. I hope you all have a great weekend.

It is nice when the sun is shining, we’ve had a couple of weeks sunshine and I feel much happier for it.
Good luck to Jack with the golf, it sounds like he’s doing well and I am glad everything is well with Luke.
The bracelets are so cute and I love those sneakers!

I wore braces and my teeth also started moving in my late 40’s, probably sooner but that’s when I couldn’t stand it anymore. My dentist said we should have kept wearing retainers all along, but ‘in my day’ they told us after a couple of years we could stop. I ended up doing Invisilign for a very brief period of time, less than a year, and everything moved. back very quickly. Then I got a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth (the back side so you don’t see it) and that seems to have solved the problem. I am loving the sunshine too!

I downloaded the sunshine meme – it will be used because sunshine DOES change your life – ha!! Love hearing about all the goodness happening in your life and all the practical stuff too – bracelets and sweaters and weighted vests are all important!! Hope it was a good weekend.
