Happy Thursday! Thank you for all the well wishes for Luke. It was quite a 36 hours, but he is doing much better. Luke and I are enjoying some chill time at home this week, while he recovers and I dote on him as much as possible.
It’s the last Thursday of the month so I am linking up with Holly and Patty to answer 10 fun seasonal questions. I love thinking about my answers and seeing everyone else’s answers, too!

This month we are talking about how we show love.

1-What’s your love language?
I took the quiz a few years ago and mine came back as acts of service. I do wonder if love languages can change over time. Right now, we are in the middle of raising two busy boys and I am so grateful for any help – emptying the dishwasher, making dinner, cleaning up dinner, taking the trash out, grabbing something at the store – that I don’t have to ask for. I wonder if my love language will change as my stage of life changes. When I’m retired and have more time, will quality time become my love language? Who knows… I’ll let you know in 20 years.
2-Favorite love songs?
I love our wedding song, It Had to Be You. I also like Love Song by 311, that was a close second for our wedding song. I looked up best love songs of all time and I found out I love love songs! The oldies listed are among my favorites, the love ballads from the 80s are so good, I love country love songs, current songs love songs are fun to sing along to, and all the love songs in between them
3-Flowers, chocolate, or something else?
I love candy on Valentine’s Day.
4-Favorite romantic/romcom movie?
If I am going to watch a movie, I pick a romcom. I don’t watch many movies and can’t even think of one that would be a favorite. Yikes!
5-Favorite childhood Valentine’s memory?
We always had some chocolates and a mylar balloon.
6-How did you celebrate Valentine’s Day?
This Valentine’s Day was a little different. The kids went to swim practice and we all ate at different times. I set the table with some candy and treats for Valentine’s Day when they got home from practice. We all enjoyed our treats and watched some tv together before heading to bed.
7-Any love or romance traditions?
We used to go out to a quick service restaurant on Valentine’s Day with the boys to get s’mores. It was a fun treat without the crowded feel of most restaurants.
8-When do you feel most loved?
Gosh, this is toughie because there are so many answers. I feel loved when Jeff and I make time to go on a walk together. I feel loved when one of the boys sits next to me (I’d call it snuggles but I’m not sure the teenagers would) on the couch. I feel loved when someone texts or calls to check in. I feel loved when someone else empties the dishwasher. I feel loved when we are sitting around the table enjoying a meal, playing a game, or just laughing. I feel loved when my parents drop by or come to my kids’ games and events. I guess I feel loved when I am spending time with people I love.
9-Big night out or chill at home?
I love a dinner out with Jeff, but not on Valentine’s Day. I am happy to chill at home and avoid all the hubbub at restaurants.
10-Do you wear red/pink on Valentine’s Day?
You bet I do! I start wearing my Valentine’s Day clothes on January 15th so I can get a full month in.

That was fun! Even though February is full of love, I am ready to bid it goodbye! I am looking forward to all the luck coming our way in March! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I’m glad that Luke is doing ok and that it is over with! I must have missed the earlier post about his procedure. Hope you all get some rest!
Thank you!
I love ALL the love songs too – old and new and all kinds of genres. We also tend to avoid restaurants on busy days like Valentines and Mothers Day – it’s fine with me to go out for dinner on a different day.
I agree that going out on Valentine’s is overrated. I think it’s much better to celebrate at home.
It Had To Be You is one of my all time favorites too! Acts of Service is up there for me as well 🙂
