Hello Monday – 1/13/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Just like most Mondays, I am sharing eight great things from our weekend. I like to focus on the positive around here and this keeps me doing just that! Here are some great things I noticed, in the order they popped in my head.

1-Jeff has been trying to get me to hang pictures in our family room since it was finished in April of 2021. I have a very hard time committing to hanging pictures. I know holes can be patched if we change our mind, but I don’t like to make mistakes. The funny thing is that I know exactly which pictures I wanted to hang where but I just couldn’t commit to it. On Sunday afternoon while I was making dinner and packing lunches, Jeff recruited Jack and Luke to hang the pictures with him. I am so glad he did it and I love them right where they are.

2-We went out to dinner with friends on Saturday night and had the best time. These are friends we made at the pool, but haven’t really taken our friendship out of the summer. Jeff plays golf with the guys occasionally, but that’s it. We made a winter dinner date and had so many laughs. The food was delicious, the wine was so yummy, and the company was so fun!

3-We went to the local high school basketball game on Friday night. The two high schools in town were playing and we saw a bunch of people there. Jeff had a blast because he coached a bunch of kids on the team and saw quite a few people he knew in the basketball community. I sat with two girlfriends and we caught up while cheering on the boys.

4-Here we go, I took Jack driving for his first official learners permit drive. We started in the parking lot and ventured on to a few roads. I was quite nervous, but he did a great job! We definitely have some learning to do and I feel pretty good about it.

5-Luke had two soccer games this weekend and played so well in both. He had quite the cheering crowd with grandparents at both games. It is always great to watch him do something he loves.

6-This feels so silly to have taken so long to figure out, but we had chili for dinner last night and there were no complaints. Luke always gives me a fit about chili because he doesn’t like beans. After years and years, I decided to cook the beans separate and I could add them to individual bowls. That simple change was brilliant! Luke had seconds, Jack had seconds, and everyone was happy! The only downside is that there aren’t quite as many leftovers as I was planning on.

7-I made another Peloton milestone! I did my 250th strength class this weekend. I am hoping that it doesn’t take me too long to get to my 300th strength class and my 150th yoga class. Between the Peloton classes and my weighted vest, I feel like I am getting back to myself and my workouts.

8-I did my second manicure with the Olive and June gel kit. I love gel polish on nails. I am not super duper at it yet, but I am getting better. I think I need to stop worrying about getting it perfect and paint my nails like normal. They say the lighter colors are more challenging, but they are my favorites.

We are staring down five full days of school this week and there is a full moon tonight. Best wishes friends! The weather looks dry but oh so cold. It will surely be a snap back to reality after winter break, early dismissals, two hour delays, and snow days so far in 2025. I have done everything I can to be ready – the fridge and pantry are stocked, meals are planned, and the calendar is filled out – so I’m now hoping for very few bumps in the road. Don’t forget to link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Genius about the beans! Don’t you love when a little hack like that helps so much?
Wonderful to take your friendship out of the summer! Ha!
Good luck this week – I am in the same boat. It’s gonna be rough!

What a great weekend! Your mani is great. The pic in the passenger seat 😂😂bless you! I hope you have a great week. We’re still at home thanks to the weather. What a weird start to 2025.

I think your mani looks nice. I prefer the lighter colors on my hands as well, but usually go darker on my toes. Good luck with the driving! And in snowy weather too, but that’s probably a good thing. I read where you should let your learner driver get in an empty snowy parking lot and practice stopping short to get the feel of that. Sounds scary but probably a good idea. Have a good full week back!

I hope your first full week back is great for everyone! I let my husband take the girls to drive. If I happened to be along, I sat in the back and put some earphones in and listened to music. Made it better for me and for them. lol

Thanks for hosting! I’m the same way with hanging things on walls. I try so hard, but then end up taking them down…but I’m trying really hard again to come up with a gallery wall that’ll stick! Good luck with your week! I was so lethargic last week, but have new energy this week! Hoping that sticks, too. 🙂
