Happy Friday! This has been quite a week. We eased into going back to school after winter break and are almost back in the swing of things. I have a bunch of favorites for you so let’s get to it!

Favorite 1: BAND! Luke had his band concert on Wednesday and he did such a great job! He got to play the slap-whacker again and we were so excited! It was nice to have all four grandparents there to cheer him on.

Favorite 2: SNOW!! We had quite a snowstorm on Sunday evening and all day Monday. It was great to be home on Monday and Tuesday. It was even better that our school system let us know the night before so no one had to set an alarm. It was really cold, but the kids played outside for hours in the afternoon. The sledding wasn’t so good but they went into the field and woods behind our house and had a blast.

Favorite 3: COLLEGE FRIENDS!! It is not news that I love JMU! One of the main reasons I love it so much is the friends I made there. I got to see three of my college roommates this weekend and it was so good! One friend came from Alabama and two from Virginia. I spent the weekend in Alexandria, just outside DC, and it was so so great! The weather was absolutely freezing, but we still ventured out and walked around old town Alexandria. We took the metro into DC and went to the Portrait Gallery. We also got a look at the Capitol before heading back to our hotel to get ready for dinner.

Favorite 4: YOGA! I did my 100th Peloton yoga class this week. I am hoping to do my 250th strength class today. I got out of the Peloton habit and did one or two classes a week to keep my streak alive, until I forgot one week. I am trying to get back into the habit and really like the instructors, collections, and classes!

Favorite 5: THE INTERNET! Sometimes I get annoyed with myself for scrolling social media, but I usually find one or two things that make me laugh or I can relate to. My friend Kara posted this and I could not agree more!

Favorite 6: TRADER JOE’S! How cute are these disco ball planters? I hung them in the library and they are perfect. The kids love them and I am excited to have some greenery in my space at school.

Favorite 7: COMFY CLOTHES! I have been wearing all of my warm and comfy clothes. I pulled this sweater out to wear on Wednesday. It was a last chance wear. That means I am not sure of it and if anything doesn’t feel super the item goes to the donation pile. Well, it is not going anywhere. It’s comfy, I think it’s cute, and it was so warm. I was looking at the tag and I got it in 2016! Did you know that some companies put the season and year it was sold on the tag? The Gap definitely does and this sweater is from the Holiday 2016 line.

Favorite 8: TREADMILL!! With this freezing cold weather and icy snow, I haven’t taken my walks outside. I didn’t want to get out of the habit so I hopped back on my treadmill. I’m wearing my weighted vest on the treadmill and I still love it. It makes my walks a bit harder and demands that I focus on my posture.

Favorite 9: THE CROWN!! If I am on my treadmill, I am watching Netflix. I am a bit behind and just started season 5 last week. I am so happy to be watching it again.

Favorite 10: LEARNER’S PERMIT! Jack got his learner’s permit on Friday afternoon. He hasn’t driven yet because of the weather and the roads, but he will soon. I was so excited for him, and a little nervous for Jeff and I to teach him how to drive!

After easing into the week with two snow days, a 2 hour delay on Wednesday, and full days on Thursday and Friday, I am ready for the weekend! Luke has two soccer games this weekend. The boys have swim practice. Jack is looking forward to cheering on the Steelers Saturday night. Looking at the forecast, I think we are going to have five full days of school next week so we need to rest up! As usual, I have a list of things I am hoping to get done but I am hoping to make some time to read my book and play a game as a family. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
