Happy Wednesday! It’s the last Wednesday of the month so I am sharing what we’ve been up to. Let’s get to it!
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…

WHAT I’M LOVING…
I am loving grocery delivery. I signed up for a free trial of Walmart+ and am probably going to sign up for the whole year now that it is half price. I understand that it means we may be too busy, but having groceries delivered instead of going to the grocery pick up was such a treat. I am realizing right now that I don’t have to be home to get groceries. As long as someone in my family is home when groceries are delivered, they can put the groceries away. This is going to be great!

Even though summer will always be my favorite, I am loving the fall leaves with summer temperatures. My neighbors have the most beautiful trees in the fall. When the sun is shining on them, it makes our mud room look like it is glowing.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…
October has been a busy month! Jack has played a bunch of golf and came in third place for the season.

We celebrated my sister and brother-in-law and my niece!

Jack and Luke had a great first swim meet of the season.

Time has been flying by – Luke went to high school open house and Jack went to the college fair.

WHAT I’M DREADING…
You know what, I am trying not to dread things. Am I looking forward to a 5 pm sunset next week? Nope, but I am working to find good things about it. I’ll let you know what I come up with. 😂
WHAT I’M WORKING ON…
I am getting started on my annual Christmas book list. Now is a great time to get those holds in at your library if you want to read Christmas books in December. If you are looking for the lists, they are on my Seasonal Book List landing page.

I teaching in our tutoring program at school this year. I am working on remembering and relearning explicitly teaching phonics. I love phonics and am excited to use that part of my brain again.
I am starting think pretty seriously about Christmas presents. I have a list going and I am ready to start ordering some things.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT…
We have finally gotten a few commitments nailed down for November and December. I am getting excited to plan a few special holiday things. I am on the lookout for light displays. I am looking for small ways to enjoy time together when it gets busy.
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…
Yesterday I shared the nine books I read last month. It was a great reading month. I am trying to decide what nonfiction book to read next. Have you read The Plan by Kendra Adachi, The Five Second Rule by Mel Robbins, or The High Five Habit by Mel Robbins?
As I started working on this blog post on Monday night, I was hanging out on the couch watching the Steelers game with Jack. On Tuesday night, I watched game 4 of the world series with Jack. I watched Mother of the Bride in bits and pieces last weekend and it was cute.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…
I’ve listened to a few episodes of Wiser Than Me podcast and I really love it. I learn something in every single episode. Julia Louis Dryfuss interviews some incredible women that have so much wisdom to share!
I had to self-report to a friend that I could not remember that Phil Collins sang In The Air Tonight. My punishment was to listen to the entire Face Value album. I am an upholder so I’ve been listening to that.
WHAT I’M WEARING…
I’ve been wearing my Halloween shirts this week at school.

I wore my lady jacket last week. It’s basically a cardigan, but I like calling it a lady jacket.

I’ve been loving these pants and joggers!

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…
We have a pretty busy weekend. The boys have a swim meet on Saturday and Sunday. Jeff and I are going to a bull roast on Saturday night and we are celebrating my niece’s birthday on Sunday night.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…
I love November! I am looking forward to a little beach trip with my girlfriends. Any time I can be at the beach is good for me!
I am looking forward to cheering on Jack and Luke! Jack has two swim meets. Luke has one swim meet and two soccer tournaments.
I love watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade!
The electric lights parade is the last weekend in November and I love it!
October was good to us and I am hopeful November will be too. I cannot believe we only have two months left in 2024! I am going to do my best to make the most of it – drinking more water, moving my body more, spending time with people I love, and noticing when I need a little rest. We are halfway through the week and I have two more posts planned for this week. Keep coming back! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I feel the same way about the time change; I’m trying not to dread it but I’m certainly not looking forward to it! Yay for trying out and loving grocery delivery; it’s great that anyone can be home and put them away for you.
What a fun, busy month! I am loving seeing all these fall colors. I have wondered about getting the Walmart delivery. I always hear good reviews. Enjoy your day!
I love your meal plan and it is great to have groceries delivered.
Those trees are such a beautiful colour.
Well done to Jack with the golf and swimming and Luke too!
The clocks changed here over the weekend so it’s getting darker here earlier and so far I am liking the darker evenings. It feels cosy!
We rely on grocery delivery often- such a game changer! Sounds like you have a fun holiday season on tap! I agree on the fall- summer will always be my fave too 🙂
What a great month. I love all your Halloween t-shirts.
I have read both Mel Robbins books and like them both. If you need a book that helps you stop procrastinating the 5 second rule is perfect. The High Five habit is more about an amazing self love movement
I think the 5 second rule is the one for me. I put the pro in procrastination! Thanks!
