Hello Monday – 10/28/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

In keeping with my goal of finding the sunshine, I am sharing eight great things from our weekend.

1-I met a friend on Saturday morning to go for a walk. We picked a route with lots of fall leaves and it was lovely. As the wind blew, we both said that it felt like we were walking in a Hallmark movie.

2-I am not much of a tv/movie watcher but I watched two this weekend. We watched The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on Saturday evening. I watched The Mother of the Bride in bits and pieces through the weekend as I was putting away laundry, writing this blog post, and doing a little lesson planning. It was cute and good background noise as I was working.

3-Luke has been feeling stuffy for a while and I started with some sinus pressure and a sore throat on Friday evening. When I was making myself a cup of tea on Saturday, he asked to join me. My favorite wild sweet orange is caffeine free and always feels good when my throat hurts.

4-Jack played in two golf tournaments this weekend. Saturday was a regular tournament and he had a rough hole or two but recovered well and came in 5th. Sunday was the season/tour championship. He played well and came in 3rd in the tournament and 3rd for the season.

5-I signed up for a 30 day trial of Walmart+. I scheduled my first grocery delivery for Sunday morning between 7-9 am. At 7:20 am, my groceries were all sitting on my porch. It was great and so convenient! I don’t think I’ll sign up for a year at the full price, but I did a chat with an associate and she mentioned that Walmart+ will be half price soon through Black Friday or so. I am not sure I got that correct from the chat, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for it.

Every few months I go through a pretzel phase and I was excited to get these on my porch Sunday morning.

6-Luke went to high school open house on Sunday. It was so fun! We know the school pretty well because Jeff works there and Jack goes there, but it was great to go and do everything Luke was interested in. We spent a lot of time in the robotics lab/innovation center.

Jeff and his mom are both alumni at the school where Jack goes. They were all featured in the welcome video at open house.

7-I had gel polish on my nails for my sister’s wedding and it was time to get it off. I had planned to have the polish taken off and come on home, but this sparkly orange caught my eye while I was waiting. It felt perfect for Halloween week!

8-One of my favorite things about a weekend morning is using these eye patches. The serum makes my under eyes feel great!

Halloween week is always full of extra fun in an elementary school. The kids are so excited and they just can’t stand it. The teachers try to capitalize on it and do some fun activities. Everyone is tired and has a sugar crash on November 1st. I just try to read fun books, embrace the excitement, and power through. Wish me luck!

The last week of the month is always a busy week in blog world. I’ll be back tomorrow with a reading update, on Wednesday for What’s Up Wednesday, on Thursday for Monthly Musings, and Friday with my Friday Favorites. I hope you’ll be back each day, too! Don’t forget to join us below if you blogged today! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!
