Happy Friday! Happy Friday the 13th! I know this date worries some people but I like to think of it as lucky number 13 on a Friday! I’m starting today looking for the lucky things that happen and hoping for a great day! I have some favorites for you, so let’s get to it!
Favorite 1: BOOKS! I did not read much of my book this week, but I did get to read a lot at work! I changed things up a bit this year in an effort to read more with the older kids in the library and I am loving it! I am still covering the same standards and curricular goals, but we are reading together more. It’s fantastic!
Favorite 2: SUNSHINE! Oh my goodness, our weather has been absolutely perfect this week! I mean perfect!! It is chilly enough for a cardigan at 7 am but by the time I go outside for bus duty around 2 pm is is 80 degrees. I am loving this weather! I am looking forward to a weekend of more great weather! I am so glad September remembered that it is still summer!
Favorite 3: NEIGHBORS!! We have the very best neighbors! They are often outside to chat and catch up. Their kids are wonderful and so cute! They are also so helpful! We found a leak under the boys’ bathroom sink. Yikes! Our neighbor across the street came over to take a look and give me an opinion about replacing vs fixing. Not only did he recommend we fix it, he came back the next day to do it. And then when we were talking about other home stuff, namely the 65+ foot oak tree in our front yard, he asked to help. It needed a big pruning and it’s already mostly done. I love love love our neighbors!
Favorite 4: JACK & LUKE!! While I am not loving how much homework they have, I am loving how they are getting it done without any reminders or nagging. There hasn’t been as much playing outside as in past years, but they are stepping up and getting the work done. I love watching them take responsibility for their stuff.
Favorite 5: SISTERS!! Guess what? We did it again! My sister and I wore the same skirt on the same day without discussing it. I love when that happens!
Favorite 6: REAL CLOTHES!! I have been wearing real clothes to school every day. I do miss my summer outfits of pjs-exercise clothes-bathing suit-pjs, but I also really like my clothes so it’s been fun to wear them again.
I am finishing this up on Thursday night after my third Thursday Back To School Night in a row. I am happy to be finished with those! I do like to go and see what the teachers have to say, but three in a row is a bit much. We have a pretty regular fall weekend with some soccer and some swim. I am hoping to use Sunday as a reset day and get ready for a five day week. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

We have had plenty of sunshine this week but it has been cold. Big coat and boots weather.
