Happy Friday! I love a Friday, but I am not very excited about this Friday. We are halfway through August and time is not slowing down. I officially go back to work in 10 days and there is a lot of summering left to do! I do have some favorites from this week, so let’s get to it!

Favorite 1: OLYMPICS!! The Olympics may have ended on Sunday, but they are still a favorite from this week. I loved seeing all of the athletes together at the Closing ceremony. I am thrilled that Katie Ledecky was honored as our one of our flag bearers. We kept the Olympic spirit going at the pool on Sunday. We had our own Olympics!

The official Freedom Olympic Committee planned and prepared for the day, but I got to be the host complete with a megaphone! It was so fun!

Favorite 2: NYC!! For Luke’s 13th birthday in April, he asked for an experience and a museum visit. We booked the train and went to NYC for the day. We chose the Museum of Natural History because Luke loves the one in DC and we’ve never been to the one in NYC. We had a great day! I’m sharing more on Monday so come on back.

After visiting the museum on Wednesday, we watched Night at the Museum on Thursday evening. It has been renovated so some things are different, but there are a lot of things that we recognized.

Favorite 3: POOL!! Luke and I had another all dayer on Sunday. We were there early to set up for the Olympics and stayed until the pool closed. Jeff and Jack played their Sunday 9 holes.

The county where I work goes back the latest of all the surrounding counties. Some of my friends went back yesterday and others go back Monday. We are counting down the pool days we have left together and that number is way too small!

Favorite 4: SUNSHINE!! Oh my goodness, we have had the best weather this week. It has been hot and sunny but very little humidity. We’ve been spending as much time outside as possible.

Favorite 5: WORK!! I know I’ve been saying that summer is going too fast, but I went into work this week and it felt good to get started. I am back at it this morning to get computers set up and ready for kids next month. I do love my job and I love getting set up for a new year.

I am headed to the New Kids on the Block concert tonight with a bus full of moms from town and I am so excited. Luke has a soccer playday on Saturday. Jack is working a bunch at the pool this weekend. Jeff and I are going to cheer on Luke and his team and make sure Jack has some swimmers to keep an eye on. I’ll be back on Monday with some more about our trip to New York City. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
