Hello Monday – 5/6/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We had a rainy, chilly stay at home weekend, but I sure didn’t get much done. On Friday, Luke went to swim practice and the last Shooting Stars of the season. These three have been part of the little brother crew since they were 3 and look at them now!

Jack was pretty busy all weekend. He took the lifeguarding certification course. It was 4 hours on Friday night and 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday. Great news – he passed!!

On Saturday, Luke had a chilly lacrosse game and it rained off and on. They won and are still undefeated! Woohoo! After his game, we came home and chilled on the couch under the electric blanket. Jeff and Luke watched a soccer game and some Star Wars while I read. They left for Luke’s soccer game and I went to pick up Jack. The plan was to drop him at the golf course for a while, but it was cold and raining. So we went to Luke’s soccer game. We’ve never been to this field and it was great. I could park and see the game from inside my warm, dry car! It stopped raining around halftime and we watched the second half from the sideline.

After that, there was no way I was cooking dinner. We popped into Mission BBQ for dinner and saw some friends, so that was fun! Then it was home, showers, and chill time. Jeff and Luke watched some more Star Wars. Jack watched basketball and I finished my book. We all went to bed early!

I loved this book!

On Sunday, we were up and at ’em early. Jack went to lifeguarding and Jeff went to the gym. Luke was living his best life playing on the switch and watching tv. I was hoping to get my favorite blog post of the year done, but I didn’t. Any guesses what that blog post might be??? Hopefully I’ll have it ready for you on Friday.

We had a pretty chill day. Luke had some homework to do. I did some pool work and read. Jeff did some work. When Jack was finished with class, he and Jeff went to the driving range for a bit.

We had baked tacos for dinner in honor of Cinco de Mayo. They were delicious! Have you tried the bold nacho cheese Old El Paso shells? We love them!

After dinner, I realized I hadn’t exercised yet today. I headed down to the basement to do some core work and some yoga. I am trying to get my hip stretched out with yoga every day. It’s helping some, but there is a lot of work to do.

We have a busy week ahead, but that seems to be the trend for May! I’m looking forward to a fun dinner with my mom on Wednesday night. Both kids have a game/match this week and that’s always fun, too! I’m planning to post most days this week, so be sure to come back. If you blogged today, be sure to link up with us below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Good for you for continuing to exercise in the busy month of May. It’s such survival mode! I’m “waiting” for my summer routine and just getting through the days I think!

My girls are grown and married, but somehow May is still always super busy for us. Congrats to your son on passing his test. That’s a useful skill to have! Enjoy your week!

I love the fields (for any sport) where I can sit and watch from my car when the weather isn’t great.

I always loved it when I could watch a soccer match from the car – ha! Jack will get LOTS of jobs with that lifeguarding certificate – it’s always so hard getting enough for the summer season where I live. I was reading a blog and the question was asked about having pool parties and didn’t it make the mom nervous and she said she always hires a local teenager/lifeguard to come to the parties to be another set of eyes – genius! Have a great week. . .yes, May is so busy. I was able to get a post out today too, thanks for hosting the link-up 🙂
