Hello Monday – 4/8/24

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Jack and Jeff were still on spring break on Friday. They played golf in the morning and were home by the time I got home from work. Jeff dashed out to pick up Luke to go watch a high school lacrosse game. Jack and I spent some time sitting on the couch watching tv. We were both exhausted! Jack went to Pinehurst, North Carolina with the high school golf team for spring break. They had an incredible time, but he came home tired! I couldn’t stay on the couch for very long because my school had their Battle of the Books competition that evening. I got home around 9 and went straight to bed.

On Saturday, the boys and I headed to Hershey Park. Their swim team was having a team outing and the boys decided they wanted to go. We left around 9 am and got home around 10 pm. It was a long day, but we all had a blast. Jack went off with his buddies and I only saw him at dinner.

There we are 😍

Luke and I ran around with some of his friends and their families. We rode so many roller coasters. We went way up high, down hills so fast, upside down, corkscrewed, zero to 72 mph in an instant, rode on coasters that let our feet hang, and went forwards and backwards. I did my share of screaming on the rides and came home with a very hoarse voice.

Heading out, Hershey Park happy!

We slept in a bit on Sunday and Jeff played golf with his friends. It was a gorgeous day, so I turned off all the tvs and devices and told everyone to get outside. Next thing I knew, they were hanging out the windows trying to make trick basketball shots in the driveway. Then they were trying to inflate a basketball so much that it would pop on impact if bounced from the top of a ladder. I’d rather them do that than watch tv any day!

I went for a long walk before dropping Jack off at the golf course. He has two matches this week and wanted to get another round in.

Luke had a soccer game and we cheered him on from the sunny stands. It was lovely!

We picked up Jack, picked up a pizza, and headed home at 8. After a quick dinner, everyone showered and got ready for a full week. I got our eclipse glasses out, double checked that they meet the ISO standards, and headed to bed. I couldn’t find our glasses from the 2017 eclipse, but I did find these pictures. We were on the beach with friends. It was so fun!

Post eclipse 2017 – we loved it!

Kourtni and I may have gone a little overboard telling the boys they couldn’t look at the eclipse. They shielded their eyes just walking around. It was pretty funny, but it worked!

Covering their eyes, walking around 😂

In our area it will only be an 89% eclipse, maybe 90%. We all have our glasses ready though. Jack has a golf match so he and Jeff will spend the eclipse on the golf course. Luke and I will be getting home from school during the eclipse event. I hope the sky is clear enough that we can see something. Are you in the path of totality? Do you have your glasses ready? Are you singing Total Eclipse of the Heart all day?? I am! Have a great day full of sunshine (eclipse or not) and books!

Your weekend was full! It made me tired reading about all your activities. 🤣 I’m kidding, of course. I love those eclipse pics from 2017! We went to see it in totality then, but today we’re staying here to see what it’s like at about 95%. We’re curious to see what it’ll be like here! Have a great day, my friend!

I hope you were able to see the eclipse today! It was only about 75% here but it’s also super cloudy & raining off & on so nothing to see here!
