Friday Favorites – 3/29/24

Happy Friday! It is a spring break Friday and I am thrilled! We have a big weekend ahead of us and I’m ready! I have some favorites for you, so let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: SUNSHINE! The sunset last night was so beautiful! It looked like the sun was on fire.

Favorite 2: BOOKS! I finished my first book of spring break on Wednesday night and it was great! I have read two books by Allison Winn Scotch and loved them both. I finished Take Two, Birdie Maxwell last night and it was such a fun, feel good read. If you are looking for a perfect spring break book, this is the one! The other book by Allison I read was The Rewind and you should give that one a try, too!

Favorite 3: PEEP SHOW!! We got to the Peep Show every spring. Our local arts council hosts an art show and the entries are made entirely of Peeps. Jack had school on Thursday and wasn’t so excited to go, so Luke, my mom, and I went without him. We had a great time, but we missed him. My dad met us for lunch afterwards, too. It was a great afternoon!

Favorite 4: LISTS! We are hosting Easter dinner/Jack’s birthday dinner this year. I also have a lot I want to accomplish over spring break. I sat down Wednesday night and started a list for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to make sure I don’t forget anything. Even if we weren’t hosting, I would still make my list. I LOVE lists! It feels good to get everything written down so my brain doesn’t have to keep track of it all. I also LOVE crossing things off my lists!

When I took my list and folio out of my purse at lunch, my mom knew exactly how I’m feeling. She ALWAYS had a steno pad going with her lists when I was growing up. Mom still uses those steno pads to keep her lists.

Favorite 5: NO MORE WINTER!! Thursday was Jack’s last day in his winter uniform. It was his last day in a sweater, button down shirt, a tie, and pants for his freshman year. When he goes back after spring break, he can wear a polo shirt and shorts. I think he’s pretty excited to go back to the polo shirt, but he never complained about the sweater/shirt/tie combo.

I am looking forward to Easter with my parents, Jeff’s parents, Jeff’s brother and family, and maybe Jeff’s sister and family. Our menu is planned and it’s pretty easy this year. I am working on planning something fun for Luke to do on Monday or Tuesday while he is still on spring break. I am hoping to read a bit more over break and have some fun with my guys. Happy Easter, if you celebrate! I’ll be back Monday with Holly for Hello Monday. Have a wonderful weekend full of sunshine and books!
