Hello Monday – 11/20/23

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

On Friday I told you I had two plans for the weekend. I did cheer Jack on at his swim meet on Saturday and Sunday! I spent the majority of the afternoon in the gym and walked down to the pool for his swims. Jack hung out with his friends in the gym and cheered them on from the pool deck. He had a great meet and it was fun to watch!

Swim meets always mean reading time! I read Reign by Katharine McGee at the meet and Love, Holly by Emily Stone at home. They are both so good!

I did not get Christmas decorating done. Jeff brought everything out of the attic so the Great Wall of Christmas is back!

I put one tree up, but didn’t add lights or ornaments. I am adding lights after school today. The plan is to finish up decorating tonight and tomorrow night. I’m going to play some Christmas music or watch Hallmark Christmas movies while I decorate. I will probably have a delicious glass of wine, too!

I spent a good part of Saturday morning in front of the television. ESPN College Game Day was at JMU and I loved seeing our school spotlighted. It was a close game and JMU came up a little short, but I am still so proud to be a Duke!!

I ordered some joggers after my friend Jamie wore them last weekend at the beach. Friends, these pants are AMAZING!! I wore them all day Sunday and will probably wear them as much as I possibly can over Thanksgiving break. I got black and gray because they were on such a great sale!

I did finish the work for the class I was taking. I am glad to have taken this class, but the format wasn’t my favorite. Four weeks was a short time to learn and implement all of these social emotional learning strategies. I plan on rereading the book and implementing it more in 2024.

On Sunday evening, we went directly from the swim meet to a football game. Jack’s and Jeff’s school was in the league championship game. It was fun to be there and the team won! Jeff was on the field with the team for the game, Jack was in the student section, and Luke and I watched together. I did walk out with two happy kids!

This week is going to be full of so much fun! I am setting the book fair up at school, my sister and her family are coming home for Thanksgiving, and we’ll be all decorated for Christmas. I will definitely be back on Friday with my favorites, but I am not sure about the rest of the week. If you blogged today, be sure to link up with us below. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Love those joggers – some colors and sizes were only $10! Wow! I think those look more flattering than some I have tried because they are more slim fitting.
I have not done one bit of decor. I just put out my few Thanksgiving things!

We got our Christmas decorations out of the attic this past weekend, so that is step 1. 🙂 Maybe this week I’ll open a box or two. I love joggers. I’ll look into those!

What a great weekend! I have decided “no tree” this year but I was surprised on Saturday when I got home that my daughter had come home and put out a lot of other Christmas decor – yay!!! I love it all, but the tree is hard when your kids are grown and you don’t really do a whole lot of entertaining specifically for Christmas. I will put a little one up and we’ll have gifts though!
I miss those days of swim meets and celebrating school victories with my kiddos – I know you enjoy that so much :). Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ll bring up all our totes on Friday; though I did warn the boys I’m probably only putting out 1/2 this year.. says the lady who went out and bought 2 extra trees last year! LOL It sounds like you had a busy sports filled weekend. Good luck with book fair setup. I love book fair days!
