Happy Wednesday! I am joining the Not Just a Mom ladies a few days late this week. These are fun posts to see what other people are doing and how they do things in their daily lives. Like the Let’s Look posts, I love them because I am curious. Well, I’m calling it curious but some might say I’m just nosy. I am ok with either one because I usually learn something and improve or change the way I do things.

This month the ladies are sharing what’s in our handbag. I was going to skip it but I was inspired by Jennifer when she shared her handbag and her carryon bag. After being away this weekend, I did just the same thing. We were in the car, but I always take a second bag with me when we travel. When we are packing, I tell the kids to pack their fun bags with everything they need to be entertained – books, devices, chargers, games, toys, etc. My second bag is basically my fun bag. Ha! So here goes.
This is my second bag. I love it! It’s tall and has sturdy handles. It can hold a lot, even if it gets a little heavy.

In this bag, I generally have books, my iPad, my Bluetooth keyboard, my extra phone charger/battery, a charger pouch, a card game or deck of cards, a travel nightlight, and a travel plug.

This time I had a few extra things in there. The house we rented had minimal tv channel options and we had 5 guys that were hoping to watch golf and baseball, so we popped out and picked up a Roku. So now we have a travel Roku.
This is a busy time of year and my to do list exceeds the regular notepad I keep in my purse, so I carry this Lilly clipboard folio around with me too.

These foam circles are an easy way to make friendship bracelets. They are easy to do, keep hands busy, and don’t fall apart if you stop before you are finished.

I had my safety pin pouch with us because Jeff’s mom is hemming Jack’s uniform shorts for him and we brought it all with us. Here’s a scorecard from the first tournament. Jack kept his, Jeff’s dad (we call him Chief) kept stats on Jack’s shots, and my mom and Luke played a few games around the course (who was on the green first, who was in the hole first, who could spot Chief first).

I put my calendar in the second bag for this trip because it gets a little heavy carrying it around the golf course. It usually stays in my purse though. I need it with me all the time!

I carry a Barrington bag as my purse 99% of the time. It’s big but I love that I have everything I could need with me all the time. I love the St. Ann zippered bag. This one isn’t zippered because it wasn’t available when I got this bag. Barrington is running a coupon right now. Use TEXTBOOK for 15% off through Aug. 17th at midnight central time.

My purse wasn’t as organized as I like it when I started, but that’s what a weekend on the road will do.

In my bag I always carry some lip gloss and cuticle serum, tic tacs, my list notepad and pens, my keys and wallet (love my Oventure ring and Barrington wallet), and tissues (not sure why I have 2 packs in here). I also found a Lego guy and a zip tie. I have no clue why the zip tie is in there but I guess it could come in handy sometime.

I also have a few pouches in my purse. I have this one for gift cards,

this one for all of my coupons for restaurants, etc. and the handouts from my favorite publishers book talks,

this one for my personal items and extra keys (work, my parents’ house, Jeff’s parents’ house, mailbox),

this one for my headphones, floss (I have a little refillable case for these), phone charger, and watch charger,

this one for my sunglasses,

and this one for my planner pens. I use these pens exclusively in my planner. We each have our own color and I like to always have them with me.

That’s a lot of pouches, but it keeps me organized and prepared.
I always have a book or my kindle in my purse. ALWAYS!

Here are the extra things I had in my purse after our weekend at the beach and golf course. Another score card, the balls Jack got for playing, some found golf balls, and a Lego guy,

Uno which came in very handy when we had an hour to kill and we were trying to stay cool,

two golf magazines,

and a little bit of trash of course.

It was actually quite helpful to take everything out. Now everything is back in my purse organized and ready for the week!

That was quite a long post. If you are still reading, thanks for sticking it out! What is the one thing you always have in your purse?
If you were wondering, I did get one more walk on the beach Monday morning. It was shorter than usual, but the scenery can’t be beat!

I’ll be back on Friday with my favorites from the week. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I love my Barrington bag too! It really is the best! All this organization makes me happy. Thanks for sharing, Sarah! Have a wonderful day!!
I love all of your bright colors-very cheerful just like you!
You fit so much in there!
I am nosy and love posts like this.
I love your fun bag. hehehe It really is full of fun things. It sounds like you had so much to keep you occupied. The travel Roku is such a great idea.
I love all your stuff and never loved any particular “style” until I discovered Lilly through you. I want ALL THINGS LILLY (does she do wallpaper? lol) and I definitely need to get that clipboard notepad! Just trying to decide between two of the pattern choices.
She does have wallpaper but it is nearly impossible to get. It’s for stores only, I hear.
Lilly’s website might have more clipboard options.
I’m so glad you found Lilly!! Enjoy!
Thanks for linking up with us! I love your sunshine bag. We pack similar things and all your pouches are so cute. I’d love to get a new Barrington bag. I’ve had mine for quite a few years and it’s getting dingy. Thanks for linking up with us.
Both those bags are so pretty and colorful! As are all the notepads and smaller items you carry. Wonderful to have beautiful cheery things as well as useful!
We call our car/ or carry on bags fun bags too and pack an assortment of things to keep us entertained. We’ve had a travel roku for years and use it on every trip so we never miss any of our shows (it only didn’t work once when we were out in the backwoods of Virginia and the house had no wifi or anything).
