Hello Monday – 2/13/22

Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I did one thing this weekend. I went to a swim meet. Luckily it was close so we didn’t have to get a hotel, but I spent the whole weekend at the meet. I love swim meets and I am so glad I was there. The boys swam 13 events and had 10 best times. It was great to see their hard work pay off. I accidently signed Jack up to swim two distance events on Friday night. He swam 400 IM and 500 free. Oops! He didn’t fight me on it and did a great job!

We were at the pool at 6:30 for Luke’s warmups on Saturday morning and I didn’t leave until Jack finished at 5:30. Jeff brought Jack and took Luke home midday. This meet was different because we were all in a gym together. It was fun to watch the boys with their friends and get to talk to them during a meet. Usually they sit on deck and we are in the bleachers.

Sunday we were back at 6:30 but left around 4.

Over the course of the weekend, Jack swam 7 events and got 6 best times. Luke swam 6 events and got 4 best times. They are both clearly working hard in practice and it’s paying off!

I did manage to get out for a walk all 3 days. It was a little chilly but the fresh air felt great!

We got home Sunday afternoon, got ready for the week, and watched the Super Bowl.

Oh, and while Luke and I were at the pool on Saturday morning, Jeff was coaching Jack’s basketball team to a good win.

I had a great time this weekend and I wouldn’t trade my swim meet weekends for anything!

I am also linking up with the Not Just a Mom ladies for their monthly linkup. This month we are sharing house rules. When I sat down to think about our house rules, I had a hard time coming up with many. Here are the house rules that keep this family going:

  • No eating on the second floor, in the basement, or the family room.
  • Lunches are always packed the night before.
  • Bookbags and sports bags are always hung up in the mud room.
  • Kids empty the dishwasher before school on school days.
  • All devices stay downstairs over night.
  • No tv or devices on school days, unless it’s too rainy or cold to go outside.

Those rules make my life a little easier and keep our house in some semblance of order. I’m sure they will change as the seasons change, but right now those are it.

We have a pretty regular week with a few practices and a five day week for school. I’ll be back tomorrow to share what I’ve been reading. If you blogged today, be sure to share your link below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

What a full weekend! We used to only allow food to be eaten in the kitchen but they now pretty much eat snacks everywhere. Thankfully they are good about cleaning up after themselves.

Yay swim mom. Congrats to your boys. I love those rules. Hayden never eats in his room, but hadley always does. She had the yellow mustard on her bedside table last night 😂 I keep telling her a mouse will end up in bed with her!

It sounds like you had a great weekend. Well done your boys with the swimming.
What great rules, I have always found a good set of rules help the house run smoothly. My girls are not allowed to take food upstairs but it’s one rule they always try to bend.
