I usually share some fun from our weekend, but this weekend I don’t have much to share. Luke swam on Saturday and Sunday morning. He had a great meet!
Jack played in two basketball games on Saturday and swam Sunday afternoon.
Jeff and I coached and cheered the boys on all weekend.
Today is another Monday link up that I love. Not Just A Mom is back for 2023. I am linking up with the ladies And today for the January topic – Introductions.
I’ve introduced Jeff, Jack, and Luke before. But if you’re new, welcome, and here’a a little overview. Jeff and I have been married for 16 years. He is an administrator a private high school. Jack is 13 and loves sports. He’ll watch anything with a ball and loves to be outside playing sports. Luke is 11 and loves Legos. He can build and take apart just about anything. He loves to hike and be outside in nature. Both boys swim year round. Jack plays golf and basketball. Luke plays soccer and lacrosse. Jeff and I spend most of our weekends cheering them on in some capacity!
Now on to me! I absolutely love the sunshine. There is something about sunshine on my cheeks that both calms and energizes me. I find that the days I get outside for some direct sunshine are always better.
I love summer the most! I always have and I always will. Is part of it because I work a school schedule and have all summer off? OF COURSE! Is most of it because I spend the majority of my summer days outside? Yes, I think so!
I am always happiest near the water. It is also just about the only place I can really sit down and read. And when I am poolside or at the beach, read I do. My kids are great swimmers so I do check on them, but I can really get into a book when we are by water.
I have always been a reader. I just love books! I even turned my love of reading into my job! I am an elementary school librarian. I didn’t read as much in college, but I sure did during the summer. I don’t love to read heavy books and I don’t love to be told what it read. I was very hesitant to read on an e reader until 2009. Once I started reading on a nook I was hooked. I’ve switched to a kindle now but I love how easy it is to take books wherever I go and to read in the dark and daylight.
I was a runner and am trying to get back to being a runner. I’ve run 3 half marathons and had a 1200 day run streak of at least 1 mile each day. I don’t always love to exercise, but I love how I feel afterwards. The mood boost and stress relief are always worth it. I was a swimmer growing up and swam year round for most of my childhood.
I love to travel and go and do. People joke that the only vacation I go on is to the beach. I think it’s because our itineraries on other vacations are packed. If I’m somewhere, I want to do everything I possibly can to make the most of our time because I’m not sure when or if I’ll get back.
I love to spend time with friends and family. I love to host and attend gatherings. I love to travel with friends and family. I just enjoy their company!

Looks like a great weekend!! Thanks for the update on introductions! We are back to school/work today after our break. A little sad, but getting back in the routine will be good too!
Routine is always good. We went back last Tuesday and are facing our first 5 day week. We can all do it!

So fun!! We have many similarities, although my kids are younger so we haven’t gotten too much into the world of sports yet. I also LOVE to read and do it all the time. And we are the same way when we travel- we love to go go go and see everything that there is to be seen! You seem to have a lot of energy and I love being able to follow along and see snippets of your life!

I am the same way on vacation and my family always complains that I tire them out but I feel like we only have the week to see and do everything and I always want to see and do EVERYTHING! Haha.

It surprised me that as much as I love reading and libraries, I didn’t really love my experience of being an elementary school librarian. I always thought that would be my dream job. I loved hearing about your 1200 day run streak. That’s very inspiring.
