Happy Wednesday! Today is another fun date this year because 11×2=22. I know I’m a numbers/date nerd, but it makes me smile. I’m linking up with Jennifer for this month’s currently post. Here we go!

I am currently borrowing…

I try to borrow books from our library as often as I can. If it’s a book I am reading at school that I know kids are going to love, I get a copy from the public library so all of our school copies can be checked out by students.

I also use the Libby app to borrow ebooks from the library. I do love a paper book, but the ease of reading on my kindle can’t be beat. It is especially convenient when I am reading before I fall asleep or in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep.

While we are talking libraries, I’d like to share two ways to support your local library. Most public library systems have a Friends group that supports the library and its programs. I have been talking about joining the Friends of the Library in my county since they stopped charging late fees. I finally did it last week and I am so glad I did. It’s not expensive and they support a lot of wonderful programs at our library.

Another way to support your local library is to set up an Amazon smile account. When you do this, Amazon donates a small portion of every purchase you make to your selected charity. It costs you nothing and donates to a charity of your choice. I have mine set up to support the local library.

I am currently buying…

Some fun things on Amazon, so I’m linking up with Tanya too. I had a gift card so I got this purse and used a striped purse strap I already have. It is so cute together.

New goggles for Jack. This was a new to him brand, but he’s been pleased with them.

A multifunction pen for Luke. He loved one that I got for my dad last year and has been asking for one. He found it online so I picked it up for him.

Some casual shoes. I’ve tried a few different pairs of Gola sneakers and none of them were right for me. They were all cute, but not quite right. I ended up wearing a pair of Luke’s shoes the other night and picked up a gray pair for myself. I love them!

I am currently planning…

Christmas lists! I wish these were in the buying category, but I am not quite there yet. I have some good lists started. Jeff and I started our shared note of what we want to get and what we already have. Hopefully I’ll start putting those plans into action this weekend.

I am currently prepping…

For the next two months. We have a lot planned for the family – basketball tournament, swim meets, girls’ weekends, Thanksgiving, a day trip, and some fun Christmas traditions. Sports seasons are changing so the boys’ practice schedules will be changing, too. At work, the Book Fair is coming up and that’s a lot of prep work and a busy two weeks.

In addition to getting it all done and having a blast while we do it, I am prepping a list of quick and healthy-ish dinners that can either make two meals or will have leftovers for at least one lunch. Please share any ideas you have!!

I am currently reading…

Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson
It doesn’t come out until March 7, 2023 but I have an e-galley from NetGalley to read for an honest review. I just started it last night so I don’t have much of an opinion yet.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
Luke and I are listening to this one. Jack listens along with us when he’s in the car. Jack’s read the first few in the series so it’s easy for him to pop in and out.

The 47 People You Meet in Middle School by Kristin Mahoney
Shark Summer by Ira Marcks
I am reading these for school. They are both in our Battle of the Books competition and I need to write some questions for them.

What are you borrowing, buying, planning, prepping, and reading? We are supposed to have some great weather the rest of this week and I can’t wait! The sun will be shining and the temperature will be in the 70s. I might even get some reading time out in the sunshine! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

*This post contains Amazon Affiliate links. Thank you for reading and supporting Sunshine & Books.*

That purse and strap look so cute together! Great to join Friends of the Library. I should do that because ours stopped charging fees, too and I would say the library saves me hundreds if not thousands a year!

Our school had a book fair last month. It was outrageously expensive. I wrote a note to the teacher explaining it was not in our budget. We also talked to our daughter about it as well. Needless to say she got a book and I ended up paying $20 🥴. Do the school districts get a nice return on book fairs? I’m just trying to understand

I set up my Amazon smile account for our local library too! I never thought of becoming a friend of the library but I just clicked over to my library’s page to look into it and I’m kind of amazed that it only costs $7! ($2 for a student!). What a fun and easy way to support the library.

I love that purse and strap. And I need to think about how to support our library — we’d be so lost without it. Also, I cannot believe how much I LOVE reading on my Kobo, especially at night.

Love the purse and strap! We are all gearing up for a busy November and December. Thanks so much for linking up with Prime Purchases!
