Happy Wednesday! It’s the last Wednesday of the month so I am sharing what we’ve been up to. Let’s get to it!
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT…
Oh this time of year I love looking at little kids in Halloween costumes and at football games! They are just too cute!
WHAT I’M LOVING…
We’ve gotten some new books and the kids have been so into reading lately. I was struggling to find books that Jack would love reading so I took him to Barnes and Noble and said pick anything! He came out with three books and has been reading like crazy before bed. The new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book came out yesterday and I picked it up at the store. Jack and Luke had a little argument about who gets to read it first. I’ve never been so happy for a brother argument!
I picked up the new Max Meow Taco Time Machine and Investigators Heist and Seek for Luke when Jack and I were shopping. He devoured them pretty quickly and is already rereading them. We found a new audio book series to get into on our drives to soccer and back and Luke’s been asking me to take the long way home to keep listening!
Even though I don’t use it as often as I could, I love our robot vacuum.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…
We have been BUSY lately! Our weekends are full of swim meets, soccer games, golf tournaments, and family time.
WHAT I’M DREADING…
Cold. That’s it, the cold weather that will likely come in November.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON…
I’m hosting my seasonal book club this week and I’m getting ready for that. I’m trying to incorporate some food from the book with my favorites. We read Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. I’m getting ready just like I shared a few weeks ago.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT…
I started a new workout program/routine. You may remember when I used to run every single day. If you’re newer around here, I had a 1200 day run streak 2017-2020. I ran at least a mile every day and often more. On day 1200, I stopped and I never really went back. I’ve been walking fast and lifting a lot of weights, but not much running. Well, I miss it and I want to be able to say I’m a runner again. I started the Endurance Moves on the Moves by Madeline app and I am loving it. I ran some last week and it felt great. I love that she encourages you to life really heavy on the strength days and enjoy the cardio on the other days. It feels like a great balance for me! I’m feeling strong and ready to take on the world!
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…
I am usually a “no Christmas before Thanksgiving” but I was tired last weekend and ready for a Hallmark movie. They’re playing Christmas movies, so I’m watching them.
We went down a rabbit hole of Super Bowl Halftime shows on YouTube the other evening. It was really fun to watch and dance to the shows!
I am back to sharing my monthly reads on the second Tuesday of the month but I have three books I can’t wait to share with you! I finished Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus on Sunday and I absolutely loved it!!!
I finished two audio books this month that I thought were absolutely divine! I listened to Dolly Parton: Storyteller and loved every second of it. It is formatted into short interviews telling the story of a bunch of Dolly’s songs. Oh how I love Dolly and this book! Luke and I started listening to the Harry Potter series. We listened to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (book 1) pretty quickly. Luke is all in and we are starting Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (book 2) today on the way to soccer. I enjoyed reading the books years ago and Jim Dale does an incredible job narrating them!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…
Well, as I was listening Dolly Parton: Storyteller I was wishing there was an album with all the songs she discusses in the book. I headed to Spotify and low and behold someone created a Storyteller playlist. Woohoo!!
WHAT I’M WEARING…
I’ve been trying to take a quick picture when I get home from work everyday. I like documenting what I’m wearing and it gives me an idea of what looks great and feels great. Everything in my closet is on its last chance and I am being very selective about what I am buying.
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…
We almost have a blank square on Saturday. I call days that have zero commitments blank squares because that is what it looks like in my planner. Our only true commitment is celebrating Jeff’s dad’s birthday a few days early. We are excited to celebrate Chief!
Sunday is going to be busy! Jeff has to work, Jack has golf, and Luke has soccer. I will be a cheerleader or caddy for someone and Jeff’s parents will be the cheerleader or caddy for the other kid.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…
Oh, I am looking forward to a girls weekend!! It might be chilly but we’ll be oceanside! We are doing a favorite things party and I can’t wait to see what they girls are loving this year. I’m excited for my favorite things, too!
I am looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving!
We already have our reservations for window seats for the Electric Lights Parade with my parents!
Jack is playing in a basketball tournament. This is his last season with his team and I am soaking up every game!
I always decorate for Christmas on Black Friday and I love it!
Favorite Amazon Purchase…
I won an Amazon gift card at work and decided to get this purse. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and I’m so glad I got it. I changed out the strap for one I got on Accessory Concierge a few years ago.
That pretty much sums up our month. We had a great October but it flew by! I’m pretty sure November and December will go even faster. I’ll be back tomorrow for Monthly Musings. Be sure to come back! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

We are so alike and thank you for sharing that Ocean Lover term- very true- though we prefer the warm weather, the ocean anytime is perfection! What a fun and busy month- loved following along 🙂
1200 days of running! WOW! That’s amazing. I’m just trying to work up to walking 7 days instead of 5. 🙂
I love your striped dress! So pretty. Yay! For girlfriend time…even better by the ocean. Love all the kid costume pics. So sweet
That girlfriend getaway sound wonderful!! Brother fights over books are the best fights.
Glad you loved Dolly Parton’s book too! I didn’t know about the playlist on Spotify, but I’m glad I do now 😊.
