Happy Wednesday! I feel like a lot has happened since the June Currently post, but I also feel like time is flying! When we get to July, some people try to say summer is half over, but I am one of those people that completely disagrees. The pool has been open for a little over a month and we still have over two months. And like one of my favorite author Elin Hilderbrand says, “September is STILL summer”. I am linking up with Anne for a monthly check in.

I am enjoying…
the slower pace of summer! We don’t have to leave the house until 9 am for swim team practice. I have gotten into the habit of easing into the mornings. We are spending some lovely afternoons at the pool and coming home for dinner. Then I’ve been going on walks each evening. I think the kids are enjoying the slower pace, too.
I am having…
trouble remembering to do a full grocery trip! Summer Sarah is here! I’ve had a few weeks where I’m doing 2-3 grocery pickups in a week. I’ve also had weeks where I look in the freezer and our CSA veggies and make it work. We are having some yummy, creative summer dinners. It is nice to skip a grocery trip or two with the crazy prices of everything, so that’s a bonus.
I am hoping…
we can figure out a very lose summer routine soon. I haven’t been fitting in as much exercise as I would like and we are going to be home and out of town sporadically for the rest of the summer. I am so excited for everything we have planned, but this may be a little downside to it.
I am picking…
dates to get together with friends! I had to cancel my last book club meeting because I tested positive and I missed that girlfriend time! I am also picking some dates to go out with Jeff for a bit.
I am using…
cloudy days to get a bunch done around the house. I picked some new hydrangeas at a local garden center and planted them. Jeff weeded the gardens. I am trying to work ahead on my blog posts. I am working on our media curriculum. I struggle to be inside when the sun is shining so an occasional cloudy day is a great thing for me.
Our weather for today doesn’t look super. We may spend some time at the pool and I am going to start our packing lists for our trip to Atlanta next week. Hopefully I will get some reading time, too. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Too funny! I shared something similar about groceries-so true- loving following along with “Summer Sarah”- so fun!
I haven’t been consistent about the groceries either. My kids panic when we are low on snacks. If we didn’t go back to school in early, august, I wouldn’t panic. I think I get about seven weeks where I don’t think too much about school.
I’m also trying to make time to see friends, especially people I haven’t seen in forever!

Ditto on the summer meal planning. We also do a CSA, and as long as we have some protein and other pantry staples around we can make some pretty tasty stuff.
