Happy Thursday! Even though February is always such a short, quick month, I can’t believe that it is the last Thursday already. I am excited to link up with Holly and Patty for Monthly Musings.

After our weather this week, I am so ready for this topic! We are talking about wardrobe transitions and spring fashion. I love the shift from winter to spring clothes and weather. It means more sunshine, more outside time, and lots of fun!

1. Favorite spring pieces in your wardrobe?
I love dresses in the spring! Most of my spring dresses are Lilly. The colors and patterns are perfect for spring!

2. Favorite colors to wear in spring?
All of them!! The only color I tend to shy away from in spring is black. I replace it with navy and add a ton of color!
3. How do you transition your wardrobe from winter to spring?
Cardigans, cardigans, cardigans! When it is time to transition away from winter clothes, I reach for my cardigans. My spring and summer clothes are the same, so a cardigan is a perfect piece!

4. Favorite accessories for spring?
My favorite spring accessories are jewelry! I always wear my pearls and the white is perfect with all the spring colors. I also love my easter jewelry from Cora’s Den. I am counting down the days to start wearing them again! You can always use code SUNSHINEANDBOOKS10 to save 10% at Cora’s Den.

5. Do you change your handbags in the spring?
You bet I do! I do have a few any season bags, but I like to switch my bag up. I have my eye on this bag and I am just waiting for a discount code. Barrington, can you hear me?? I love your bags and I’m ready for a code.

6. Best tips for off season storage?
I keep my seasonal or holiday clothing in Rubbermaid tubs on the shelves in our guest room closet. The rest of my clothes stay in my closet and dressers all year long.
7. Best tips for editing your wardrobe?
I am really working on this. I’ve done a few things to pare down my wardrobe that have been great. 1. I took every article of clothing out of my closet or drawers, went through it, and only put the items back that I really wanted to wear. 2. If I put something on and it doesn’t feel great, it goes to the donate pile. If I wear something and I don’t love it at the end of the day, it goes to the donate pile.
Full disclosure: I have A LOT of clothes. I purposely buy clothes that are classic styles and will last a long time. I’m working on not filling the spaces of things that get purged so I wear more of what I have.
8. What color just says spring to you?
Pastel colors are spring to me! I tend to wear more bright colors than pastel, but when I see pastels I think spring every time.
9. Best basic spring transition outfit?
I think this is a pretty good one. White jeans and a crisp gingham button down are so springy! Light jeans and a blazer with sandals are pretty springy, too!

10. Do you have a favorite spring fragrance?
I don’t have a favorite spring fragrance to wear, but I love the smell of peonies! The bloom in late spring and I love them. I carried peonies in my wedding and we found out Jeff was allergic on our wedding day. Oops!
That was fun! I can’t wait to get some more ideas about how other people transition their wardrobe from winter to spring. Hopefully if we are thinking about spring clothes, Mother Nature will follow along and bring us some warm weather! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I love cardigans as well. In the spring and fall, I often wear dresses with cardigans. You have the best accessories (& I love that purse) Peonies are my fave…& poor Jeff 🤣
You know I love all of the Lilly too but I am really digging your outfit with the blazer, jeans and sandals- so sharp! Love your style as always 🙂
Love your two spring basics outfits. I need a gingham blouse like that! Thanks for joining us this month.
It’s Amazon essentials and I LOVE it.

Oh that is a beautiful bag! I’m trying to do the exact same thing with my closet; I keep a bag/box near my shoes and anything I wear that I am not loving goes right into the donate pile. You have some wonderful spring outfits here!
