Happy Monday! We had a busy weekend and as I write this Sunday night, I need to go to sleep. Did you see that full moon still hanging around? This short week at school could be something…

We had three days of a swim meet. Jack swam Friday night and Jack and Luke swam Saturday and Sunday mornings. It was so fun because parents were allowed in. Each family was allowed one parent, but that was better than nothing. Jeff’s taking a grad class and wanted to get it done so he stayed home and I videoed the kids so he could watch them.

After the game on Saturday, we hit up Trader Joe’s and found some great seasonal items. I was talking to another shopper and she mentioned some things at another TJs so we stopped by a different store on the way home on Sunday.
We went out to dinner on Saturday to celebrate great report cards and Jeff’s parents joined us. It was a great evening.
On Sunday after Trader Joe’s stop number 2, we went to my parents’ house. We hadn’t seen them in a few weeks and it was a great afternoon! I’m looking forward to spending Thanksgiving day with them too!
We joined a few of our neighbors for a Friendsgiving on Sunday evening. It was so nice to visit with the neighbors and enjoy a yummy dinner. I was in charge of dessert. Now this may get a lot of push back, but I don’t like Thanksgiving desserts (pumpkin pie, apple pie, pecan pie). So I made a dessert I love – chocolate peanut butter bars – and put the sprinkles in a turkey shape. Perfect!

I finished my book, The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living by Louise Miller. It was a perfect fall book! I had a hold on it through the library and needed to read it. Now, I’m back to Christmas books!

While we were at my parents’ house, I took a Christmas tree that my mom isn’t going to put up this year. For the first time ever, I put a tree up before Thanksgiving. It needs a skirt, but those lights make me so happy!!

We have a short week and lots of fun planned for the weekend. I’m not sure when I’ll be posting this week, so stop on by for a quick visit. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Your comment about the full moon and a short school week cracked me up- hope it is not too crazy- ha! Love your new tree AND love those books shelves in that room- it looks beautiful! Your peanut bars sound better than most desserts too 🙂
Maybe the moon explains my daughters attitude
What a great weekend! That dessert looks delish. I love the turkey shaped sprinkles. The Christmas tree is perfect. I don’t like to skip over Thanksgiving but the glow of the trees make me happy. I hope you have a great (short 🎉) week 🙂
