Hello Monday – 8/23/21

Happy Monday! This is my last week of summer break and I am going to soak up every last drop of summer that I can. Don’t worry, we’ll still be summering hard until September 21, but it’s a little tricky when school starts. I’m linking up with Heather to share our weekend today.

We spent Thursday night at Zac Brown Band. I have been wanting to see them in concert for a really long time and it was everything I’d hoped it would be. I danced and sang along with every single song. I was singing the songs all weekend long!

On Friday, we woke up to a rainy day and stayed home all day. The boys played together all day. They love this game!

We were up early for a busy day on Saturday. I started with this hamstring yoga. I am pretty sure I need to do it every single day for at least a week to loosen my hamstrings a little. And after that week, I should probably keep at it twice a week. 😂

Then we headed to watch Luke play in a scrimmage fest with his new team. He played well and had a great time! It was so fun to see him back on the field!

On Saturday afternoon, we went to Black Ankle with some friends. It was HOT, but we had a great time! We had a bunch of snacks, including a new dip I’m going to share soon. The kids played and the adults talked and laughed until it was time for bed.

The boys love watching WWE wrestling. We don’t watch it often but they think it is so great, and a little funny. Summer Slam was on Saturday night, but we watched a little on Sunday morning. I’m not sure where we got a WWE championship belt, but we have one. It was so funny to watch Luke with it while watching John Cena and Roman Reigns.

We were checking off one of our Summer Fun List items on Sunday afternoon. We went to a Braves game!! I know the kids were thinking that we’d see the Braves in Atlanta or a new stadium, but that didn’t work out. We went to Camden Yards and watched the Braves win! It pretty much rained the whole game, but we toughed it out and had a great time!

Both kids got a ball and they were so excited!!

We walked out of Camden Yards winners! Here’s a little back story. We have always been Orioles’ fans. We used to go to the games a couple times a summer. We’ve even been to spring training. A few years ago, Jeff and jack started watching the Braves each evening on tv. Jack, and then Luke, had so much fun watching them and have turned into Braves fans. Now, Jack falls asleep every night listening to the Braves games on the radio.

We ended the evening watching Field of Dreams. Jack was dying to watch it after the Field of Dreams game was on tv a few weeks ago. It really is such a great movie!

I finished the night watching another episode or two of Outer Banks. I’m still in the first season, but I am enjoying it.

It was a great weekend for my Cora’s Den earrings. I rocked the seashells, the pink starfish, and the red, white, and blue geometric earrings. They’ve added some fun fall and Halloween jewelry and you can always use my code SUNSHINEANDBOOKS10 for 10% off.

We have a lot of fun planned for this week – hiking, pool, friends, pool, golf, pool, soccer, pool, and some more pool time. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

We have one last week of our official summer vacation too and I’m trying to think of a few last fun things for us to do. Sounds like you had a great week! Field of Dreams is a fabulous movie.
