Hello Monday – 8/2/21

Hello Monday and hello August! I am linking up with Tanya, Heather, and the girls for Hello Monday to share our weekend.

We had a great weekend! Jamie and I decided to do a three day half marathon this weekend. As part of the Made To Move summer series, we ran a 5k in June, a 5 miler in the beginning of July, and a half marathon this weekend. We ran 5 miles on Friday morning, a 5k on Saturday morning, and 5 miles on Sunday morning. We ran our Friday 5 miler faster than the one we did earlier in July, and we ran even faster than that on Sunday. I love spending that time with Jamie and she keeps me going. I would never have done this without her. We have so much fun running together and I tend to figure out so many problems when we run. Jamie is an incredible listener, asks the right questions, and has the best ideas!! I hope we pick another event to run together soon!

It was so humid on Friday morning that I joined the sports bra squad! I’ve never run outside in just a sports bra, but Friday’s humidity called for it!
Jamie ran with her Believe/Strength flower all weekend and I ran with my Joy and No Excuses flowers.

I spent my weekend mornings running and had three great afternoons and evenings! After our Friday morning run, I went directly to the running store. After almost a year, my shoes were beat. I tried a few paid and ended up back in Brooks Glycerin 19s. I love the bright pink!

On Friday, Luke and I headed to the pool when it opened at noon, while Jeff and Jack stayed home to cut the grass and play. We dashed home to pick them up for Family Fun night and ended up staying until the pool closed at 9.

On Saturday, we were all back at the pool when it opened at noon. Jeff and Jack decided to go play golf and Luke and I stayed. I figured we’d just stay until he asked to leave. Well, at 8 pm I finally took him home. We hadn’t had dinner but he didn’t seem to care. Luke and a few other kids had so much fun doing acrobatics and creating a routine for the parents to watch. The lifeguards even got in on the fun by dj-ing for the kids.

On Sunday, I headed to the pool solo for our August member meeting. It was a little chilly and started raining so we opted to not have a pool day. I like to buy school supplies on August 1st because there is a still a good variety and it’s far enough from school starting that it doesn’t give a sense of doom. I convinced everyone it would be so fun to go to Target for school supplies and Dick’s for new sneakers and cleats. Apparently, everyone else in the world wanted to do that, too. It was busy, but we got it done.

When we got hone from getting all that done, we hung out at home for the evening. I hopped on this Swell Revolution Balance Board that Jeff ordered for the kids to work on their balance, coordination, and surfing. The kids and Jeff are rocking it! I’m not so good at it. I’m finding that the more I hop on the board, the better I get. I can even do a few squats on it.

On Sunday night, the guys played this game that Jeff found at Target. It took a LONG time to get started, but got going once they got the hang of it.

I finished another book this weekend. I read Family Reunion by Nancy Thayer. I was happy to go back to Nantucket (in the book) and thought it was a great story!

I’m still watching the Olympics every chance I can. I contacted Katie at Cora’s Den and asked if she could make an Olympic rings necklace for me. She said no problem, like she always does, and sent me this! Isn’t it fabulous??? I love it so much!!

It was a great weekend of relaxing and family time. I ignored the growing To Do list in my brain all weekend. I am hoping I can get a bunch done tomorrow morning so I can spend the day at the pool with friends we haven’t seen all week! I have a full week planned for Sunshine & Books so I hope you’ll be back to keep reading! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Look at you with all that running AND the balance board. You can do it all! I love your Olympics necklace! So fun! I went to the mall with Hadley on Saturday and felt like everyone in the world was there 😂 I hope you have a great week.
