What’s Up Wednesday – 7/29/20

Happy Wednesday! I cannot believe it is the end of July already! I am linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share what’s up with us lately.

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…
Sunday – grilling out
Monday – baked ziti
Tuesday – sheet pan fajitas
Wednesday – ribs
Thursday – shrimp boil
Friday – pizza or cook out
Saturday – leftovers

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT…
All the beach memories we’ve had! We are a beach family so we try to get here as much as we can. Little boys on the beach are so stinking cute, but they can be a lot of work!

Is there anything cuter than freshly showered beach buddy?

WHAT I’M LOVING…
The beach!!
We are in the middle of our second week at the beach and it is lovely! All the time on the beach with our kids and friends and family has been so restorative! Our trips have been a little different because of Covid, but we are making the best of it and enjoying ourselves. During week one, we did a bunch of carry out and ate a little later with my mom or just the four of us. During week two, we are eating in every night and sharing the cooking duties. Both are so lovely!!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…
Usually we are beachers for at least 6-7 hours every day. This summer we’ve been changing it up a little bit.
We went fishing and I caught a little flounder.

We went stand up paddle boarding and had a great time.

We spent some time at a beach club on the bay with a delicious bar with frozen drinks

WHAT I’M DREADING…
The unknown! Our county still hasn’t announced how we school will start in the fall and I’m dreading the time until we know. I don’t know what my position will look like if we are hybrid or distance learning, and that’s weighing on me, too.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON…
I am working on reading as many books as I can right now.

I am also working on attending as many webinars as I can from my county to be most prepared media specialist I can.

I hope that I will be working on building some Ikea bookshelves soon. Jeff and I have some renovation/repurposing plans in our first floor and possibly extra bedroom in the near future.

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…
I’m not watching much to be honest. I want to watch Sweet Magnolias on Netflix but I want to read at least one book first.
I’ve been reading a bunch. You can check out my Books page or my most recent Show Us Your Books post. Right now, I’m reading The Royal We and eagerly anticipating the sequel, The Heir Affair.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…
I’ve been listening to the same old podcasts but yesterday I remembered Spotify’s beated playlists. I listened Fun Run 150-165 and it was great.

WHAT I’M WEARING…
Bathing suits and cover ups

Running skirts and tank tops

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…
A little more beach time and a nice long drive home

Hopefully the car won’t be quite as full on the way home.

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…
I love August! We still have so much more summer but sports are starting up so we get a little schedule. Luke’s soccer is starting up and Jack’s baseball will continue.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW…
I am hoping to get away at least one more time for a few days between sports practices and Jeff’s work obligations. I’m a little worried we are going to be stuck at home for a while again, so I am trying to get out of town safely while we still can. We may go to another beach or we may go west and do something else.

Have a great day full of sunshine and books! Be sure to come back tomorrow for Monthly Musings.

Enjoy the beach! I don’t think we’re going to get to one this summer 😦 Also thanks for reminding me about the sequel to The Royal We. I just put it on hold. Also I really enjoyed the first two Sweet Magnolias books.
