Friday Favorites – 5/15/20

Happy Friday! I am so ready for today! My kids have been working a little longer each day so we don’t have a bunch of school today and the weather is going to be beautiful! I am linking up with Erika and Andrea to share my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1: GOLF!! It is no secret that my guys love golf. I enjoy going out with them to play too. It’s a great family thing for us and our local club is so good to kids.

When we played on Thursday evening, I hit my best shot ever! I’ve never driven a green before and I did it tonight!! It was a par 3 and I was so excited! Golf is fun, but it can frustrate me because I know what I should do and the ball doesn’t usually go where I think it should. 😂 It did last night and I was pumped!

Favorite 2: READING!! Luke’s teachers are reading The Lemonade War to his class as part of a novel study. I ordered a copy of the book so he could follow along. He asked me to read it to him so we’ve been skipping the teachers’ videos (sorry friends). It’s been so nice out that we are snuggling in the sunshine as we read.

I finished another good book that comes out this summer. Eliza Starts a Rumor by Jane L. Rosen will be published on June 23rd. It is the story of four women living in the Hudson River Valley in New York. They’re lives are all affected by a rumor that one person posts in an online message board. I totally didn’t see the end coming. I thought it was a little out of the blue and took a pretty serious turn. It was good book and I give it ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️.

Favorite 3: TEACHERS! I have been so impressed with the things my kids’ teachers have done in our distance learning. They are a great job teaching of course, but I love how they are still building relationships with my kids. They are meeting in small groups, class groups, and grade level groups. Their Google Meets have been full of fun games and ways to make them keep learning and also feel connected to their teachers and friends. Their teachers are finding fun science experiments that we can do with stuff that most people have at home. They are keeping learning fun and reassuring my kids that we are going to be ok. ❤️

Favorite 4: MATCHING! I love matching and this week I matched my new sneakers twice. It brought me joy!!

Favorite 5: SUNSHINE!! I headed outside to do my Peloton workout the other day. I’m not sure what the neighbors were thinking, but I don’t really care. It was too nice to workout inside!

Favorite 6: TV!! I finished Little Fires Everywhere this week. I thought the book was ok, but I didn’t really get the hype. I enjoyed the TV series more than the book. GASP!! I can’t believe I actually typed that! It is true though, I liked this show way better than the book.

If you’re looking for a good book, don’t forget to check out my Summer Beach Reads post or my latest book review. There are some really good ones!

That’s all for the week. I hope you have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!!

Ok- thanks for the recommendation- just pre-ordered Eliza Starts A Rumor- LOVE your Lilly skirt AND totally agree with you on Little Fires Everywhere- the series was so much better than the book -didn’t want it to end. Also, congrats on you drive- we have a tee time on Sunday and I am giddy! 🙂

I need to watch Little Fires. I liked the book, but felt it was a little strange. My daughter just got the student Spotify account and it came with Hulu free. So now we can all enjoy that all summer! I’m glad to see y’all getting some sunny weather! Have a wonderful weekend! Tanya – The Other Side of the Road
