Hello Monday – 12/10/18

Happy Monday! We are in full Christmas fun swing over here and I am loving it! We may be a little tired but that’s not stopping the Parsons! I shared some of our Holiday traditions with TBB Asks on Saturday. I am linking up with Heather, Lindsay, and Johannah to share our weekend.

As we were unpacking all the Christmas decorations, I was inspired by the bin of wine glasses and dishes. We use them for Christmas but not much before. So I decided to have a few ladies over to use the glasses and dishes. The invite very specifically said do not get fancy, the comfier the better, and be prepared to relax. it was a great way to spend a Friday evening. Jeff was working and the boys were watching Elf in my bed so the ladies had the run of the first floor. We laughed and talked and hung out. It was wonderful! As I looked at the picture afterwards, I thought about how glad I am that I have these girls in my village. Jamie and I have been friends since we were little, but the rest of the ladies are my friends because our kids are friends. I am just so thankful that my kids picked their kids to be friends with. It’s been pretty wonderful! I do love some girlfriend time! We missed you in the picture Erin! ❤️

Saturday morning started with a swim meet for Luke. It was pretty cool to be at that meet. I was a year round swimmer all the way through high school. Just about every single indoor swim practice I had was in the pool Luke swam in. My former coach was running the meet. Luke swam well and had a great time!

After Luke’s meet we hustled to Jack’s basketball game. They won!! It was a great day for Jack and Coach Jeff!

We had a fun Christmas party Saturday night. We discovered a new brand of wine – 19 Crimes. The wine labels come alive when you look at it through the app. The criminal on the label tells the story of his crime. It was pretty neat.

The party has a great White Elephant exchange too. The gifts usually go one of two ways: great presents that everyone wants to steal or gag funny gifts. We went with one of each this year. Somehow I ended up with one of our gifts – the beer belly fanny pack. 😂

We had tickets to The Nutcracker on Sunday. All of Jeff’s family came and his mom invited my parents and his sister’s in-laws. All together there were 18 of us. It was the kids’ first time seeing The Nutcracker. They enjoyed it and it was a great way to continue our Christmas spirit.

We headed to Jeff’s parents’ house afterwards for dinner. Jeff’s mom made yummy chili and chicken tortilla soup. It was so delicious on a chilly Sunday.

We have some Christmas fun planned for the week: a new lights display on Monday, Jolabokaflod night on Wednesday at school, and our Christmas lights drive on Friday. I hope you have a great week full of sunshine, books, and Christmas lights!

What a fun weekend. I was just thinking the other day that I have never seen The Nutcracker and really should do that one year.
