Friday Favorites – 4/13/18

It’s Friday!! Hooray! We had our first taste of our spring schedule since it wasn’t too rainy and oh boy are we going to be busy!  All fun, but busy! I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share my favorite things this week.

It was a little chilly but the sun was shining so I was happy.  I squeezed in a few miles with my friend Erin while the boys were warming up and then settled in to watch the Cardinals.  It was his first travel game and Jack did well.  I ❤️ watching my kiddos play baseball!

Favorite 2 – Sunshine!! The sun finally started shining this week and we were so happy!  We were outside a ton this week.  The boys rode bikes, played Fun Ball (their made up game that involves football, golf, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse sometimes), played basketball, golf in the yard, and all sorts of pretend games in the neighborhood. I got to run outside and practices were much more enjoyable!

Favorite 3 – Golf! Tuesday was so nice and we had an early dismissal day.  My mom got the boys off the bus and they played outside.  When I got home, we hopped in the car and headed to the golf course.  The boys had a blast hitting balls and asked to add the driving range to our weekly schedule.  I was thrilled and am going to do my best!

Favorite 4 – School Library Month! I love School Library Month because it is a fun time in the library at my school.  This year we are celebrating poetry and the kids have been using their research to write great shape poems.  We are also having a bracket style poetry competition to determine our school’s favorite poem.  I also have a collection of library related shirts that I am wearing this year to inspire readers.

Favorite 5 – Shows! We took the kids to 2 shows last weekend and both were great.  We went to Marvel Universe Live on Friday night with some friends and family. The boys had a blast seeing all that super hero action.  On Saturday we went to a local high school to see Seussical the Musical.  Wow! Those kids are so talented!  It was 2 hours packed with singing, dancing, acrobatics, and pure entertainment! We were super impressed with the show.  I love taking my kids to shows or plays because its a fun memory and it is good practice for theater etiquette.  As the boys get older, I’d like to take them to more plays and shows. I think it is important that they know how to behave and what is expected as an audience member.

The light up wands were a part of the show and the audience members got to participate using them for one of the songs. And, who doesn’t love a light up wand??

Those are my favorites for the week.  I am looking forward to some more warm weather and time with friends this weekend.  We are 9 days out from our half-marathon and I am getting excited. I have a medium length run planned for Saturday (6-8 miles) and then it is taper time! Luke’s opening day for baseball is Saturday and my Muckdog is pretty excited!

Have a great weekend filled with sunshine and books!
