Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

It’s happening. I am back to work today. We have five pre-service days before we welcome our wonderful students into the building. While I love my job and seeing the kids, I would prefer to be sitting on my pool lounge chair tomorrow instead of a chair inside the cafeteria. I know when we get into the routine, it will feel great but the swift change from Summer Sarah back to regular Sarah is not my favorite. Ok, enough about that.
I met my goal of sharing all of the details from our Alaskan cruise on the Discovery Princess before I went back to work! Here are all of the posts:
Saturday 6/27 – board the ship in Whittier, AK
Sunday 6/28 – day at sea, Hubbard Glacier
Monday 6/29 – day at sea, Glacier Bay National Park
Tuesday 6/30 – Icy Strait Point/Hoonah
Wednesday 7/1 – Juneau
Thursday 7/2 – Ketchikan
Friday 7/3 – day at sea
Saturday 7/4 – disembark in Vancouver
Sunday 7/5 – Vancouver and red eye home

I had a great weekend!! I spent most of the day at the pool on Friday. The weather was incredible and I relaxed and read. I left around 4 to take Luke to swim practice and get ready for happy hour. Our neighbors are moving so we had a last hoorah happy hour. I made some dips, bought some dips, and cut up some veggies. It was easy and delicious. Happy hour was in our side yard and neighbor’s back yard and we hung out until it was quite dark. I’m going to miss them so much!

Saturday’s weather did not look very good. I planned to stay home and do some things to get ready for the week. I did half of that. I stayed home, but didn’t do much to get ready for the week. Oops! I took a long walk with my weighted vest before the rain was supposed to start. It felt good to get back out there.

All four of us were home for dinner so tried something new. Jeff’s been wanting to do a family sushi night all summer and Saturday was the day. We have never ordered sushi and haven’t eaten much Asian food at all. Jeff ordered a huge variety and we all tried everything. I am happy to say we all found at least one or two rolls that we liked and we might do it again sometime.

Sunday’s weather looked absolutely perfect, and it was! I started my day with some Premier League soccer. I am a total bandwagon fan and am excited to cheer on Man City this year. I loved everything I learned about Erling Haaland during the World Cup so Man City is my team now!

Jack played golf with friends in the morning and with Jeff in the evening. Luke worked all day at the pool. I stayed at the pool when I dropped Luke off, swam some laps, and settled in for the day.

I think this was my first all-dayer of the year. Can you believe it? Only one so far. I read and chatted with friends that I haven’t see in a while. Nine and a half glorious hours poolside. Can you think of a better way to spend the day? I sure can’t!

This is going to be a tricky week because the boys haven’t started school yet. Jeff’s back to working his regular schedule with sports after school. I’m at work all day. The boys are working at the pool, have swim practice, and will of course make plans as the week goes on. It’s like the wild west at my house! The weather looks beautiful, so we might get some pool evenings. If you blogged, be sure to link up with us below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

You definitely had a pool day! That’s great!! I like your solar lights- so pretty and unique. One of my water fountains is solar and I love how long a charge lasts. Have a great day and week at school :).
I hope the first week back goes well!
Thinking of you as you head back! Can you go to the pool one afternoon or sit outside and read? That was the hardest part of teaching for me – being trapped indoors! Argh!
That is exactly what I say “trapped inside”!! I am going to go to the pool a few afternoons this week. We’ll probably have dinner there at least once because both boys are working.
Glad it was a good weekend and I enjoyed your Alaska posts! I will hopefully get to my Alaska recap next week. Hope the first day back is a good one!
Thanks! I am excited to read your Alaska recaps!
I hope the return to work goes well. It sounds like a great weekend and like you gave your neighbours a good send off. Your solar lights are so pretty. The sushi night sounds like fun and it’s always good to try new things.
I watched a bit of the Man City match too, I can’t believe Haaland has cut his hair! lol
I know! What a surprise that was to see him with a buzz cut!
Wishing you a wonderful school year but before we get to that I need to say that Summer Sarah agreed with you- you look happy and refreshed and you have a killer tan! I love those solar lights! Where did you get them?
They are an Amazon find. I think I linked them under the picture.
We finally had a great full weekend on the lake. The weather this year has been so unpredictable but there was lots of boating and water time in ours. I love your solar lights. I have two small solar lanterns that make a hummingbird pattern on the tables where they sit and they’re so fun. Happy back to school week!
Those lanterns sound so pretty! I’m glad you got a good weekend in. I bet your summer weather and boating can extend almost to October in South Carolina. Enjoy it all!
