Hello Monday – 7/13/26

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We had a great weekend and I’m sharing it today. Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing about our trip this week. When I sat down to write this post on Sunday evening, I realized that I haven’t put any of the pictures Luke took with our DSLR camera on my computer. I don’t want to share without those great pictures!

I am not sure why I thought I would come home from 10 days away and be ready to spend every afternoon at the pool because that surely did not happen this week. I did spend a little time by the pool on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday but not too long.

On Friday, I coached from 9-12 and then dashed through the grocery store to pick up a few things. I dropped them off and headed back to the pool for a little while. Luke came with me at 9 for swim team and stayed until he started work at 11:30. He worked until 9 so he officially got an all-dayer even if it was working not playing. I read for a little while, but I struggled. I am not exactly rocking from our cruise, but I still feel like I am on a floating dock. I wouldn’t say that I am dizzy or nauseaus, but I feel like I’ve had one too many glasses of wine and everything is moving. It made reading pretty challenging. Jack worked later in the afternoon and we passed in the driveway as I came home. I made dinner for the boys and headed back to the pool around 6 to give them dinner and get ready for our swim team pep rally. Our team has a pep rally before each home meet. It’s fun for the kids and it gets all the parents there to help set up. This week we had ice cream sundaes!

I was up before the sun on Saturday to head to the pool. I finished up some set up, put our tent up, and headed back home to grab the boys. I showered and packed the cooler while the boys got ready. We were back at the pool at 6:45. It was a loooooong meet because there were three teams competing. We won big and most of our swimmers got at least one best time. We had some swimmers swim events they’ve never swum before or swim an event legally for the first time. I am so proud of these kids!!

Go Jack!
Go Luke!

My parents came to cheer on the boys, but I didn’t get a picture with them – nuts. I need to remember to get one next week! Jack went home after the meet because he had to guard later. Luke and I stayed for an hour or so before coming home. Jack got to come home a little early because it was storming.

Of course, we got our slurpees on the way home from the pool!

I headed to sleep pretty early on Saturday night and was pretty excited not to set an alarm on Sunday morning. I made a to do list for the first time since we got back. It was a bit longer than I was hoping it would be, but I am glad I made it. I got most everything on the list by the time I went to bed. Luke and I played a few rounds of Battleship after breakfast. He loves playing games, and I try to always say yes. Jeff and I went to the pool for a little while. He was swimming laps and I decided to tread water. I am still feeling unsteady and didn’t want to make it any worse by swimming. We read for a little while (it was a little easier than Friday). When I got home, I got started on that list – grocery pickup, meal planning, wrote a few swim practices, put laundry away, etc.

I am looking forward to this week. We have an extra swim meet on Wednesday night, but I think that is the only extra thing. If you blogged today, be sure to link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

So funny the way you describe the after effects of being on a boat. Even when I am on the boat, up at the lake, for a day or two, I feel the same way! Sounds like a great family weekend 🙂

The rocking and rolling feeling would be too much for me. I’m super sensitive to motion and have never done a cruise. Yes, we have a boat but on a lake and even that can get me if there’s a lot of motion. Hubs knows my limits and we often anchor where there’s a beach so I can get on land if I need the break. The lake is mostly calm and we’re not on the boat for hours at a time either. People try to convince me I could do Alaska but you have convinced me I could not : ) I hope you feel back to normal soon.

Oh, I hope the rocking sensation goes away soon. I’m glad to hear it’s getting better. I love a good to-do list when I can cross a lot of things off!

Yeah, it’s pretty near impossible to jump into resting and relaxing after returning to real life from vacation with all those household tasks that need doing. It sounds like you had a nice balance of both. I hope the rocking feeling goes away soon. I don’t experience that from a cruise or ship but I definitely felt that way a time or two after riding several roller coasters in a row.
