Happy Friday! I am going to give a Friday Favorites post another try this week. Last week, I got to chatting with someone and never finished the post. I started my spring break yesterday (Thursday – Tuesday), so I am hoping to get this all the way to published. Let’s get to my favorites!
Favorite 1: JACK!! Jack turned 17 this week. Holy smokes! That feels very old – 17!! We celebrated on Saturday with Jeff’s parents, on his actual birthday at home together, and are celebrating this weekend with my parents. Jack is a pretty calm guy when it comes to his birthday these days. I like to make a big deal about birthdays and tried to temper it down for him. Mission not accomplished – ha!
For years, I have used balloons to decorate their doors or rooms in a new way when the boys wake up on their birthday. This year, I put one decoy balloon in the hallway.
The rest were in the car. I thought that was a fun new idea. Jack didn’t find them until I was at work this year, so I caught a glimpse on the doorbell camera.
Then I took the extra key to his car and put some cupcakes and a very small balloon in there to share with his buds after golf practice. And then I put the car balloons on our front porch column. Our neighbor across the street asked if I was trying to make the house like the house in Up. Too cute!
Since he had his favorite coconut cake on Saturday, we had ice cream sundaes. We used our family birthday cake plate. It only sang a few notes, but it’s always good to hear.
Favorite 2: GOLF! Sticking with Jack, I got to go to his match on Monday. He played really well and swept his opponent. It was supposed to be a close match and his team came out on top. It was a beautiful day to walk the course! Jeff got to go on Wednesday for another win for Jack and the team. What a fun year this is going to be!
Favorite 3: SUNSHINE!! We had gorgeous weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was so warm that it was time to break out the short sleeve dresses with no cardigan! Woohoo!! I am loving my new Lilly tennis dress!
Favorite 4: SPRING BREAK!! I started my spring break with a mix of productive and relaxing. I had my annual skin check at the dermatologist and ran a few errands. I also watched a few episodes of Nobody Wants This while I put away laundry and did some pool work. The weather wasn’t lovely, but it was a good day for staying in.
Favorite 5: PELOTON! I did my 350th strength class yesterday. It was a good reminder to keep doing strength classes. I was doing so well for a few weeks but I let the weather get in the way. When it is sunny, I just want to be outside and that doesn’t lead to much strength training for me.
Favorite 6: BOOKS! I shared the books I read in March on Tuesday. I was excited to read my first Summer Beach Read of 2026. I absolutely loved it!
Favorite 7: SCHOOL SPIRIT DAYS! Our school’s fun run has a Mario Kart theme this year. One of the reward incentives was to have a Dress Like Mario day. The students fundraised enough and we had the day this week. I decided to get something I would wear again and turn it into a Princess Peach costume. How cute is this set? It’s a skirt and tank. I did have to size up because it was FITTED!
