Hello Monday – 3/30/26

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

I really thought this was going to be the week that I posted more than just Monday. I even started my Friday Favorites post while I had a half an hour before Luke’s swim practice ended. And then a fellow swim coach sat down with me and asked a few questions about our team website and poof, there went my writing time. Oh well! It was a week full of good stuff and I know some of this good stuff won’t last forever so I’m spending it with my guys. So here I am with a Hello Monday edition of Friday Favorites!

Favorite 1: GOLF!! Jack had two golf matches last week. Jeff went to one and I went to the other. It is so fun to watch Jack do what he loves! They have two more this week! I am headed to his match today and Jeff will be there on Wednesday.

Recapping the match after the win

Favorite 2: SOCCER!! Luke had a great soccer tournament last weekend. He hasn’t scored in years and scored his second and third goal of the season this weekend. He was pretty excited about it!

Favorite 3: PLANTS!! I think I mentioned my plants and my babysitting plants a few weeks ago. They are doing so well! My “Christmas” cacti that I got at Trader Joe’s years ago didn’t bloom this year and I was pretty bummed. However, I guess they decided to be Easter cacti this year and have some buds on them now.

My babysitting plant put out a bunch of new shoots recently. I think Seymour, that’s his name, is pretty happy in our family room.

My parents went to Holland last spring to see the tulips and they were beautiful. My mom ordered a bunch for us to plant last fall. My dutch tulips are starting to emerge and I can’t wait to see them.

I picked up a big bunch of Trader Joe’s tulips because they are always the best and signal spring like no other. 😍

Favorite 4: CLOTHES! I had a little meeting with myself and my closet recently. I realized that I have quite a few winter and early spring dresses that I haven’t worn. The weather wasn’t supposed to be freezing on Monday so I wore a dress. On Tuesday, Luke had a few teeth pulled so I stayed home with him. I wore jeans and was comfortable all day! These Quince jeans really are amazing! Thursday was Opening Day in Baltimore so I rocked my O’s quarterzip.

Favorite 5: BIRTHDAYS!! We are heading into our spring birthday season and started celebrating this weekend. Jeff’s parents came over on Saturday night. I made his mom’s famous casserole and Jeff’s mom made her famous coconut cake. We had a great time!

Favorite 6: POOL!! There was a short moment this month that the pool was not my favorite, but I’m back. I’ve been doing a lot of work behind the scenes for our pool and it’s been pretty stressful because I did not know what we needed to do and how to do it. I had a good meeting with our treasurer yesterday and I think we’ve got ourselves up to speed for now. I met with the swim team reps on Thursday night and we are in a great spot for swim team this year, too. We nailed down quite a few details and have some fun stuff planned. The pool opens in 54 days and I am ready to be sitting poolside!

Favorite 7: SPRING BREAK! We aren’t there yet, but I am ready. We are going to my sister’s for the long weekend and trying to figure out the logistics. It is a 8.5-9 hour drive. We have plane tickets but the TSA lines have been 4-5 hours in Baltimore the past few days. If the TSA agents don’t start getting paid, we might pivot and drive. EEK! I am fine with either choice, but I would like to know. I am looking forward to a few days of warm weather and family time.

Favorite 8: BOOKS! I am so ready for spring and summer reading. I am working through a book for a book club at my school right now. Jeff’s mom and I talked about it last night. She said it took her two tries, but she really liked it so I am going to power through. I actually bought the kindle and the hardback copies of the book because the art inside the front cover is so important to the story. I’ll share my reading update tomorrow, so be sure to come on back.

Favorite 9: DONATIONS!! I don’t want to brag, but I cleaned out two cabinets on Sunday morning and dropped them off at the donation center THE VERY SAME DAY!! 🏆I am giving myself an award for that.

Favorite 10: AMAZON!! Easter sure did creep up on me this year. With a busy March and an early Easter, I popped over to Amazon to save the day. I got bathing suits, flip flops, and shirts for my guys and they should all be here before we leave. They like these bathing suits as much or more than Chubbies and they are much less expensive. I also got a little something for my mom and sister and it will be here by then, too.

I think that’s about it for my Monday. I am looking forward to warmer weather and bright sunshine this week. I’m going to try to carve out as much outside time as possible. If you blogged be sure to link up with us below! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Air travel is tough right now and I do hope they figure it out sooner rather than later. That’s a long drive, but I don’t usually mind a car trip. Hope you have a nice break with family! That cake looks amazing!!

You have been busy but due to the best possible ways! All of your events/activities sound good. It sounds like the boys’ sports are going well. I hope the spring continues to bring good matches/meets/tournaments. Your flowers are so pretty! Have a great Monday!

So much goodness in one post! First off, congrats to Jack and Luke for rocking their sports- these are the best days! Second, those pink loafers are calling my name and third, I will be right there with you and hoping that Amazon will save my Easter game 🙂 Great to read about your recent happenings and wishing you a wonderful spring break with your sister and her fam!

Yeah I find some years my Christmas cacti like to bloom in spring instead… some years I get blooms during both seasons. I do find that they like lots and lots of sunlight so as long as they look green and healthy and happy I tend to just leave them alone and let them bloom whenever they want! LOL. Your plants are looking lovely. Best of luck with your travel plans. I’m flying out to next weekend and have been keeping an eye on our local airport and so far we’re lucking out with just 30 minute wait times or so (but I think it helps that it’s a pretty tiny airport!).

You have been so busy with all the good stuff! We are driving 11 hours this weekend to see my son in Auburn. We never planned to fly for this trip, and I’m glad I don’t have to worry about the TSA lines. Houston has been horrible.
