Happy Friday! I cannot believe we have been to school all five days this week. We have a scheduled early dismissal today for students, which means we haven’t had a regular Friday in a few weeks. The weather related delays and early dismissals and our scheduled early dismissals have really done a number on our Fridays. Our elementary specials schedule is different each day of the week, so I haven’t seem some of my Friday classes for a regular class in weeks. Oh well! I have a bunch of favorites from this week, so let’s get to it!

Favorite 1: OLYMPICS!! Oh friends, I am soaking it all in! I was planning a blog post on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but I didn’t get to it because the Olympics are taking all of my extra time! In fact, as I type this on Thursday night I am watching the prime time coverage to catch anything I missed during the day. I’ve been watching on Peacock anytime I don’t have a class.

I am so proud of the Team USA athletes for their hard work, determination, and for sharing their beliefs in how they are representing the United States. I love the spirit of competition and friendship in the Olympics. It’s so fun to watch the friendships athletes have and how they celebrate and support each other. My instagram (@sunnyscp) is pretty much an Olympic fan account right now and I love it! We had a staff pot luck lunch with a Super Bowl and Olympic theme. I made these cookies. 🥰

Favorite 2: SWIM!! It wouldn’t be a Friday Favorites without swim, would it?? Jack and Luke swam in a meet last weekend and it went really well for both of them. Once we determined Jack was ok after hitting his head on a dive, he was able to swim in his last meet of the season. Luke has a few more meets before his short course season ends.

Luke had his high school swim banquet this week. It was so nice! The coaches talked about each kid and shared the swimmer’s successes.

Then they announced the Coach’s award for JV and varsity. Our guy Luke got the award for JV! We are so proud of him!!

I got to see some of my favorite pool friends this week for our first swim coach and swim team rep meeting of the season. No pictures, but it was so nice to be thinking about summer! For those keeping track, our pools open (Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend) in 99 days!

Favorite 3: JACK!! This picture is a quick headshot that we took to register for the SATs (yikes) but it turned out wonderfully! He’s been putting in some work lately to get ready for golf season. I am excited to see what this season brings for him!

Having a driver continues to be terrifyingly wonderful! The roads and weather are a little dicey but Jack is doing a great job. I am also loving when he uses his driving to be helpful. On Thursday, he came home from the golf simulator and told me he parked me in. Hmmmm. Then he followed it up telling me he was going to pick Luke up from practice becaues he knows I don’t like to leave the house that late. ❤️ I am looking forward to some one on one time with Jack this weekend.

Favorite 4: SUNSHINE!! The sun has been shining every day this week and it makes such a difference. It is still cold and we still have a lot of snow, but sun helps. Tomorrow is supposed to be 54 degrees and I don’t even know what to do.

Favorite 5: HAIR!! I am still figuring out how much product to put in my hair and how much to towel dry it, but I am loving this shorter cut. When my hair gets caught in my coat zipper, I lose all my patience for everything. It was happening more and more so I walked into my appointment and decided to cut 5 inches off. I feel so much better! I know it’s just hair, but it’s a favorite this week.

Favorite 6: SPIRIT WEAR!! I had quite a dilema figuring out what to wear this week. It is Valentine’s Day week, Tuesday was the 100th day of school, and the Olympics are on. What is a girl to wear? I decided to wear all of it!

Hello Monday

I am so excited for tonight. The Wheeland Brothers are playing near us and I am going. I missed them a few times last year so I can’t wait to see them tonight. Luke is supposed to have a soccer game on Saturday but I don’t think that’s going to happen with the snow on the ground. Jack and I are headed out of town on Sunday afternoon for a college visit on Monday. Oh, and I’ll be watching all of the Olympic coverage! 💙💛🖤💚❤️ Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
