Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We had a great weekend! It started Friday evening when Luke and I shared a Joe Corbi pizza for dinner after his swim practice. Joe Corbi is a local fundraising company that has not changed their pizzas since the 80s or 90s. They taste exactly the same and I love them. Both my school and Luke’s sold them last year for a fundraiser and we had our last one on Friday. I hope a school near us sells them again soon!
Jack had a weekend full of time with friends! He was with school friends on Friday night and swim friends most of the day Saturday and Sunday morning. He’s loving the freedom of being able to drive and make plans with friends. I’m loving it for him, but I miss him a bit! We were spending a good bit of time in the car each day from the beginning of school until he got his license. I know it is normal and how it should be, but it’s weird!
Luke finished his Milky Way on Saturday. He got it for Christmas and has been working on it panel by panel in fits and spurts and finally finished it on Saturday. It is so cool!

I went to my first craft fair this weekend. Luckily, I had two friends to guide me along the way. I picked up a few things and am very happy with my purchases! I got two pairs of earrings, a fun pen, and festive gift card holders. I will definitely go back next year!

I took a look at the long range forecast and decided that we are decorating as much outside as we can this weekend. Friday and Saturday are have highs in the mid 40s and lows in the 20s. No thank you! I did the front porch lights on Saturday. On Sunday, I did the deck lights and was going to do the roof lights, but I got sidetracked by the leaves. I am hoping to get them done this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed!🤞🏼

Once it got dark on Saturday, we hung out and watched football and the NWSL soccer championship game. I knitted while we watched. I switched from metal to wooden knitting needles and I am so much happier with them. The “tooth” as the knitting professionals call it, makes it much easier to keep the stitches on the needle until it’s time to move it. It was a great evening! Also, this sweatsuit is so comfy and I might keep checking back to see if it comes back in stock in more colors. I got it in a medium, but it feels like I might be a small/medium. We’ll see what colors and sizes are available…

Saturday was matching pjs night! When your kids grow multiple inches each year, they need all new pjs. I found a great deal on Lands End and ordered. They are comfy and I love matching!

This was our vaccine weekend, too! We each got a $10 off $20 coupon from CVS and it was fun to shop with Jack and Luke. I gave them the coupon and set them loose in CVS with the goal of staying as close to $10 as possible. Obviously snacks were on the list, but watching them look for deals and coupons while getting as much as they could was entertaining.
We spent Sunday evening with the Parsons. We are all going to different houses for Thanksgiving, so we got together on Sunday. Jeff’s mom made her famous brocolli chicken casserole. Jeff raved about it when we got married so I tried to make it from the ingredients list he gave me. Apparently I made it wrong so I never made it again. Jeff’s mom made it for Jack when he spent the night there the last two years and he LOVES it. Jack was excited for dinner and Luke was excited to finally try it. It’s always a good time when we can get together.
I have two and a half days of school this week but the boys are off all week. They are filling up their days with practices, but I am hoping to leave them a few things to get done while I’m at work. I am setting up our Book Fair this week, which is always exciting! I am hopeful that all of our students will be able to get books when we open for shopping after Thanksgiving. The very best part of Book Fair is putting books in kids’ hands. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I am cracking up at the “three seasons/holidays on one porch”- so cute! I give you so much credit for doing the roof lights by yourself- amazing! I know the feeling of not getting to see your teen as much- very bittersweet- you are so happy for them for being out there and living their best lives but your heart yearns for that together time still- one of the joys of parenthood right? :/
Never heard of the fundraising pizza but I get the nostalgia and something NOT changing! That’s a fun thing to do at CVS with the vaccine coupon.
Those pizzas sound so good and what a great fundraiser. It sounds like Jack is having a great time. That milky way looks fab!
The matching pj’s are so cute!
Have a great week!
That Lego Milky Way is so neat! I always loved book fair week– both as a kid and as a teacher.
So many good things about this post…matching pj’s, book fair, the Lego art, 3 holidays on the porch!!! Hope it was a good dinner at your in-laws – funny, both my mother and MIL have stories like yours (not making their husband’s mother’s dishes “correctly”) – thankfully my MIL’s bar wasn’t too high 😉
Have a good 2.5 days – those short weeks can be hard!!
The Milky Way is so cool! Love the matching pjs! I hope you all have a lovely Thanksgiving!
