Happy Friday! I am sharing my favorites with a currently twist today. Here we go!

I am loving…
This comfy set I wore on Wednesday when I was off for a doctor’s appointment.

I am also loving my workout again. I am going back to Rebecca Kennedy’s 5 day express on Peloton. It’s a good workout in 20 minutes and I can feel my muscles working.
Though it is getting shorter and shorter, I am loving the sunshine. I am working hard to get outside for at least 10 minutes without any technology to enjoy the sunshine. I usually walk or read. Especially now that the sun is setting sooner, it makes a difference! I had door duty for our conference night last night and enjoyed some sunshine and a book in between greeting parents.
Looking at that picture above, I am loving my hair right now. I stopped combing it over a year ago. I stopped running my fingers through it after the shower this week and I love how my curls are staying together better. I also got fairy hair again and it makes me happy!
I finished a few books this week and I am loving that! I read a kids graphic novel, an adult book from the library, and an ARC on my kindle. It was a good reading week and I am hoping it’s a good reading weekend, too! Swim meets usually are.😊

I am looking forward to…
I am excited to head to a swim meet this weekend! This is the boys’ first winter swim meet of the year and I am ready to watch them swim fast!
I am looking forward to the books on my TBR. I am hoping to work on my Christmas Books list this weekend and to have it ready for you on Monday. Be sure to check back! If you are adding to your library holds list, be sure to check out my Christmas Book lists from the last few years. Scroll down past the Summer Beach Reads to find them.

I am smelling…
Tanya has raved about candles from Walmart before and I just got my first one. It was only $11 and I am impressed!

Ok, this is a little gross, but I got some clogs recently and I love them. But I am sure they are synthetic fabric and they make my feet hot and cold at the same time. I am trying some new things to keep my feet in a good way. I’ve had pretty good success with this spray this week, but I am open to any other options that you’ve had success with. Please share in the comments.

I am preparing for…
CHRISTMAS! I bought a few Christmas gifts this week but I still have a ways to go. I do have some good ideas and I am making plans for gift giving.
BOOK FAIR! The Book Fair is coming to my school in December. I always love Book Fair, but it is a busy couple of weeks.

I am thankful for…
You guys! I am thankful for all of you that are sticking with me even though I haven’t been very consistent here on Sunshine and Books! Thank you!
I am thankful for friends! I had friends day Wednesday this week! I met a friend for a weighted vest walk and then met other friends for dinner. It was so so lovely!
I am thankful for family! Of course I am! The three Parsons in my house, my parents, my in-laws, all of our brothers and sisters (regular and in-law), and my neices and nephews. We have fun together and I am thankful for them!

I am thankful for our schools. I am thankful the boys seem to have found their spots in school this year. I am thankful for my school and even more for my colleagues. They make it great! I am also thankful that our schools are so caring. Living pretty close to DC, the government shut down has a huge impact on our communities. We have families with two furloughed parents, families not recieving SNAP benefits, families with parents that are government contractors and not getting paid now either. Both schools have been collecting food and living supplies for our local pantries.
I am thankful for easy returns! I mentioned on Monday that I am on a jeans mission and I haven’t finished yet! I tried some Judy Blue jeans – one pair is at they tailor getting hemmed and the other is getting returned. I bought jeans on Amazon – keeping at least one pair and returning at least three pairs. I went to Old Navy and these are the jeans that I tried on but did not buy. I bought one pair. This is becoming quite a job! Luckily our UPS store and Kohls store are close so the returns are easy.

That was a fun way to share some favorites! I am so ready for the weekend and all it will bring – Friday night lights, swimming and cheering, subs from a favorite spot near this meet, and researching Christmas books for you! It all sounds good to me! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Thank you for reading and supporting Sunshine & Books!

Halara jeans! He he – you know how much I talk about them. Good job on working out! I got the fall book in to the library that I requested and wouldn’t you know a Christmas one came in at the same time. Not quite ready! I want to bask in fall a bit more.
You have me giddy about the weekend! Your hair does look great and I do love those clogs so hopefully the spray will work!
I loved your post with a twist! I do think your hair looks great. I also recently started using new (more quality) products for my curls, and I’ve been so pleased. I’m even using a new curly girl method, and my curls have been so much healthier. I only brush it in the shower when it’s sopping wet with conditioner, and it really comes that through all the strands. I let it “soak” while I shower/shave, then I rinse it out (leaving some in) and divide my hair and scrunch gel into it while I’m still in the shower. I wrap it in a microfiber towel when I’m done, then I take it down and let it air dry.
I’m glad you’ve had a great week, and I always love your joy for life; it’s contagious! Have a great weekend, my friend.
That comfy set does indeed look comfy!
It is so important to get outside when there is less daylight.
Your hair does look great and the candle too!
Reading the things you were thankful for really did make me smile.
That comfy set looks so nice and cozy! I know what you mean about soaking up the sunshine while we can. It has been pretty cloudy this week but today is looking sunnier and I definitely plan on taking a short walk/hike while the weather is a bit nicer.
I don’t know if you have Marshall’s or TJ Maxx where you live, but I have good luck finding jeans there.
I love your “thankful for” list and that your community is pulling together to help those who aren’t getting paid right now. Good communities that take care of each other are truly something to be thankful for. Hope you have a great month!
YES to the sun! Glad you are finding time to get some every day. I’m thankful for schools too – what an important role they play in most family’s lives. Glad your boys have found their places.
Hope the swim meets got off to a good start! Loved catching up with you today 🙂
Love the family pic! I need to look at those Walmart candles. I love clogs but I know what you mean about hot and cold at the same time haha
