Happy Friday! Are you singing after reading the date? I’m singing working 9 to 5 just like Dolly!
I am so happy to see this Friday because it means I made it through the first week of school. It was a good week and I have a bunch of favorites to share with you. Let’s get to it.

Favorite 1: BOOKS! I am loving the book I am reading right now. The Academy by Elin Hilderbrand and Shelby Cunningham is a perfect back to school read. It comes out September 16th! I am loving my first week of media read alouds with favorite characters and the kids are loving them, too!

Favorite 2: TEACHER OUTFITS! I have been so comfortable all day in my three back to school dresses! The blue dress has a built in bra and was perfect for a day of teaching. The gingham dress is fully lined and got me through 13 hours at school yesterday – a full day of teaching and back to school night.

Blog reader Leslie suggested these sandals when I asked about cute sandals for my achy feet and I love them! I wore them for my 13 hour day yesterday and my feet felt great all day.

Favorite 3: POOL! I already told you that we spent most of last weekend at the pool and it was glorious!

I stopped by the pool this week to clean out the fridge and to check on the pool in the sunshine. It felt so good to read for a little bit while the pool filled up a bit.

This is a pool adjacent favorite, but the boys’ year round swim practices started up yesterday. Luke had soccer so he didn’t go but Jack and his buddy did. I tried to take a picture of them in front of the building but they weren’t having it.

Favorite 4: GOLF! I got to spend some time at the golf course with Jack this week. He practiced and I worked on my seating charts in the sunshine. I don’t love doing work outside of school but at the beginning of the year it has to happen sometimes. And, I’d rather do my work outside around my family than be stuck inside at school.

Favorite 5: FAIRLIFE PROTEIN! We are getting back in the swing of things with school, practices, and hungry people. The Fairlife protein drinks are the perfect quick breakfast, before and after practice snack, and before bed filler. I get them at BJ’s wholesale club but they are available on Amazon.
Favorite 6: NAIL POLISH!! It has been a long time since I have consistantly painted my nails and I’ve missed it. Right now I have my favorite Pink Sands on my fingers and Perfect Pinwheel on my toes. Both are Olive and June polishes. I used a nail/cuticle serum on my toes all summer and they are in great shape now. I need to remember to put it on my fingers all fall and winter!

I am looking forward to our first September weekend. There will be a little golf, a little swimming, football, hanging out with friends, and a parents’ meeting at the boys’ school. I am looking forward to turning off my 5:30 am alarm and easing into the day. I hope the weather cooperates and we can enjoy a bunch of outside time. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Thanks for the links to the dresses and shoes. I have the shoes in my cart right now. Hope you do have a good weekend – looks like the weather was great for you this week too. We have had so.much.rain – you’d think it was spring coming, not fall :/.
Oh no! I hope it dries out soon!

I am glad you had a good first week back at school. I love your outfits, especially the blue dress, it looks great on you and that is good you have found some comfy sandals.
Thank you!
For some reason I thought the new Elin H book was a Young Adult book, but I am hearing great reviews. Hope you have a good weekend.
It takes place at a high school and I thought it was going to be YA too but Elin is saying it’s not. I’m loving it!
Congrats on the first week of school! I love both of your dresses! I can’t wait to read The Academy. Have a great weekend
