Friday Favorites – 8/15/25

Happy Friday! Again, I love a Friday but this one is getting dangerously close to the end of summer for me. This has been a good week and I have some favorites for you so let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: BOOKS! Oh my goodness, I have gotten into a good reading routine and I’ve finished five books this month already! It feels so good to be plowing through books I am enjoying! I have also read 5 or 6 books for school this week. I haven’t done much else, but I am ok with it!

Favorite 2: GOLF! Jack had a golf tournament this week. I went on Monday and it was so fun to watch him play. My dad took him on Tuesday and he had a great time, too. Jack played pretty well but thought he could do better.

Yesterday, Jack and my dad went to the BMW championship golf tournament. They had a great day and got to see lots of Jack’s favorite golfers.

AND Neal Shipley, JMU alumni, earned his PGA tour card this week! I got to see Neal at the US Open in Pinehurst last year and am so excited for him! Way to go NEAL!

Favorite 3: POOL! We didn’t get to the pool on Monday, but when Luke and I pulled in on Tuesday his friends met him in the parking lot. He played with his pool buds all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It was great. I chatted with some friends and read for a while, too. We did realize that Saturday will probably be one of the last days that all of the pool friends are going to be there. 😭

Our pool is in the woods and we see a lot of deer. Look at this little baby that was trying to cross the driveway on our way in this week.

Favorite 4: SUMMER!! Even though we all know summer isn’t over until the end of September, I’m feeling a little sad about it changing when I head back to work on 8/25. I love this quote that Kristy Woodson Harvey shared from The Summer of Songbirds to remember we can hold on to summer all year long!

Favorite 5: THE ROOMS! The room switch is not complete yet. It’s slow going and making me a little crazy, but the weather has been too nice to stay inside and get it done. I’ve made some headway with the boys’ clothes and all of their clothes are where they are going to end up (donate, friends, consign). I have a plan for any books we are finished with and will start sorting them tomorrow. We’ve rotated the clothing around the three closets. We have a list of next steps and I am hoping Jack is going to start on is this morning before work. The part that can be counted as a favorite is going through things that have been piling up in the boys rooms and the guest room for way too long. The goal is to have it all done by Tuesday night. Wish us luck!

Hello Monday

We have a great weekend ahead of us. Saturday is wide open and we are heading to the golf tournament on Sunday. We have one more week of pool time and slow mornings and I am going to lean in to them. I’ll be here on Monday for Hello Monday. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I’m jealous of your reading pics. I haven’t had much time lately. Love that Summer of Songbirds quote. One of my fave books. Enjoy your weekend and another pool week. I already feel my tan fading!

What an adorable baby deer; I have been seeing so many (too many?) deer on our drives lately. They’re making me nervous since they like to randomly dart in front of my car. I can’t to hear about all the wonderful books you’ve been reading this month. I definitely can’t complain either as I have read some really great ones lately.
