Hello Monday – 7/21/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Well, the last few days were pretty great but they definitely didn’t go as planned. Last week in Hello Monday I said we had five swim meets, hopefully two concerts, a party, and a swim team banquet coming up. Well, the first swim meet was on Wednesday evening. It started thundering and lightning about halfway through the meet. The meet director decided to resume the meet on Thursday evening. That meant concert number one wasn’t going to happen. I really wanted to see Michael Franti after we got rained out last year. Bummer, but it was ok because the meet was really fun!

I forgot to mention our swim team pep rally on Friday evening. It was so fun to have over 100 people there to get excited for our last home meet and get set up.

On Saturday, we had swim meet number two. It was our last home meet and we had eight seniors. It was so fun, with a few tears because we are going to miss these swimmers! We won! That means we ended the season 4-1 and co-division champs! Woohoo!

Saturday night was concert number two. We also had an adult night planned at the pool. When we heard how many friends were coming to adult night, we decided to skip the concert. I am ok with it but I will definitely go see the Wheeland Brothers next time they are close. Then, it started POURING as we were getting ready for adult night. The pool was a mess and it was soaking wet so we canceled adult night. We did get together with some friends and the soundtrack was the Wheeland Brothers.

On Sunday, we had a coaches meeting to get ready for the fifth swim meet and the swim team banquet next Saturday. We worked for almost four hours at the pool before hanging out for a little while. Jeff, Luke, and I went home for a little while and then headed back for a graduation party. I feel so lucky to be included in celebrating these graduation celebrations for these great kids.

It’s pretty late on Sunday night as I am writing this. I do not have much of a voice after all the cheering on Saturday at the meet. We have swim meet number 3 tonight and I am excited to be there. This is our team’s first year participating and I hope it is as fun as everyone says it is. The weather is supposed to be fantastic for the next few days – not too humid and perfectly warm. Don’t forget to link up with us below if you blogged today! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

It sounds like you have had a busy time of it with your plans changing. I am glad the swim meets went well. We’ve had a bit of rain here but we’re forecast a lot more during the week.

I am so over the weather affecting my summer plans! I’m sorry about your night. It seems like everywhere in the US is experiencing not ideal weather!

Summer storms make planning hard, but looks like you made the most of it. Sorry you missed your concerts. Congrats to your team on their great finish!

I love hearing about all your family together time at the swim meets!! It’s what you wait for all year, right? Sorry the weather was such an interference – we have had an unusual amount of rain this summer. Everything is really green but it does hamper some outdoor activities. Hope you have another great week!!
