Hello Monday – 7/14/25

Happy Monday! I’m starting the week with Holly and all of you! I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

We had another good summer weekend. I’ve got EIGHT GREAT things to share with you so let’s get to it!

1-We spent some time at the pool Friday afternoon. Luke hung out with friends, Jack worked, and I hung out with friends and read. It was a pretty great afternoon. When Jack got off work, we headed to 7-11 of course! It was Slurpee day! We did not see the tongue tattoos but I hear they had some this year.

2-Jack had his first driver’s ed driving time on Friday night and I went to dinner with my parents and my mom’s cousin. It was so good to see all of them! We had a great time and Jack did a great job driving while we were enjoying a delicious dinner.

3-Saturday morning was an early one! We swam at a pool about 50 minutes away. It was a great meet, even though we didn’t win. Jeff’s mom and dad came to cheer on the boys and it was great to see them.

4-We got home from the meet around 2:30 and we were all starving. I was in no mood to make anything for lunch so we got Qdoba. We haven’t had Qdoba in a long time and I forgot how yummy it was (for fast Mexican food).

5-My Prime day purchases almost all came at the same time on Saturday in individual boxes. It looked like Christmas time on the front porch. I am returning a few things and bought some **school supplies** (I hate to say those words in July) because they were a great deal.

6-Jack and Jeff played golf on Saturday night and Luke and I chilled at home. It was just what I needed after a hot 5+ hours of coaching. I read two books that I’ve had for a long time from the library. They are pretty neat retellings of Greek myths.

7-I got a few things done around the house on Sunday before I headed to my parents’ house. My mom was hosting a cousins reunion this weekend. One of her cousins passed away in February and they were having a celebration of her life on Sunday. It was great to see everyone, even if we were together for something so sad. We played her favorite music and looked at a lot of old pictures.

I’m the taller of the two girls in green dresses. We think this was 1985 or 1986.

8-I got a great walk in Sunday night in my weighted vest while I was talking to my sister. I can’t wait for her to come visit in a few weeks. Even at 9 pm, I was sweating like crazy. It is still so humid here. The humidity was 84% and the air felt like soup. I like hot and humid, but even I am ready for a little break.

We are heading into a pretty busy two weeks. We have five swim meets, a party, hopefully two concerts, and a swim team banquet. Jack and Luke both have swim practices and Luke has some pickup soccer. I am going to do my best to be here a few times a week, but we’ll see. I hope you have a great day full of sunshine and books!

We finally got to be together for something happy but within the sad you still have joyous time together with laughter so that is good. Aren’t cousins and extended family the best?
    Keep on summering!

I intended to get a slurpee this year but ended up with company all afternoon and am not driving so hubs would have had to chauffeur me there. Sounds like you’ve had lots of nice pool time. We’ve enjoyed the lake and pool a lot this month too. July is low key this year, August amps up with company and a beach trip, so we’re enjoying the quieter weeks. Enjoy all the fun events you have coming up!

It sounds like a great time at the pool.
Well done to Jack with the drivers ed and how exciting to have all those Amazon parcels.
It sounds like a great celebration for your mom’s cousin!

You are getting a nice tan from attending all the swim meets! Good luck to your sons in their swim competitions. I have never tried Qudoba…pizza is our go to on “no cook” nights. I’m sorry to hear about Your Mom;s cousin passing…may their memory be a blessing.

Yay for free slurpees! I tried a new one…peach…and it was more of a sour and bitter peach. Not my favorite, but you can’t beat free. Glad you got to have some family time over the weekend!

I love that throwback photo; you can tell it was taken in the 80’s just by the clothing and hair styles. I bet it was fun to reminisce even if you had all gathered together for a sad occasion. Good luck over the next few weeks; it sounds fun but definitely quite busy!
