Friday Favorites – 5/23/25

Happy Friday! How are you doing today? I am doing alright. After today we have 14 days left of school, which feels like way too many and not quite enough to get everything done at the same time. I have some favorites from the week so let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: BOOKS! I shared my 2025 Summer Beach Reads list yesterday. I am so ready for summer reading now! There are 23 books I am looking forward to reading on that list.

I am extra excited to read Where the Rivers Merge by Mary Alice Monroe. I got to meet her again last night and hear her passion for conservation, nature, and storytelling. I’d heard that this books was the first of two about Eliza and Mary Alice confirmed it. The second book won’t be a sequel, but a continuation of the story. It is going to be so good!

Favorite 2: GIGI & POP!! Jack didn’t have school yesterday or today. He was planning to play golf with my dad yesterday but the weather didn’t cooperate. He hung out with my parents all day and spent the night so they could play golf on Friday. My dad pulled out all of his yardage books to go through with Jack. I think both of them were pretty excited about it!

Favorite 3: LACROSSE!! Luke had his last lacrosse game of the season on Saturday. His team played on Sunday but he couldn’t make it because of his confirmation. He had fun and the team won pretty big!

Favorite 4: CONFIRMATION!! Jack and Luke were confirmed on Sunday evening. We had our family over for a party before and it was so fun! Between my sister living a few states away and everyone’s busy schedules, we haven’t all been together in a long time! The boys worked hard this year learning about their faith and serving others to prepare for confirmation and I am so proud of them!

Favorite 5: SUNSHINE (AND RAINY DAYS)!! I loved the warm sunshine all weekend! The sun on Monday was perfect for planting flowers at the pool. Tuesday, the sun held out enough to get some work done at the pool to prepare for opening day tomorrow. Wednesday and Thursday had a bit of rain and I was happy to have it. After a busy, fun filled weekend and not getting home before 8 pm on Monday or Tuesday, I took advantage of the rain on Wednesday afternoon. I put on some comfy clothes tackled some things around the house. As much as I love a warm sunny day, sometimes I need a chilly rainy day to relax and power through my to do list.

Hello Monday
Summer Beach Reads 2025

This Memorial Day weekend is going to look a little different than our usual. Luke has a soccer tournament and his games on Saturday and Sunday are at least an hour away. Jack has to work on Sunday at the pool. The weather looks sunny but chilly. I am hoping to get to the pool for a little bit, even if I am in a sweatshirt. What are your Memorial Day weekend plans? Holly and I are going to host Hello Monday on Tuesday next week because of the holiday. We’ll see you back here then! Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

What a fabulous week of favorites! Our only plans so far this weekend are to head out on Sunday to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. I don’t know where or what we’ll do but I’m sure we’ll have fun.

So cool that you’ve met yet another author! Congrats to both boys on their confirmation. Love your family phone (& your dress) in your front yard as well as all the extended family photos. Such a special time. It’s chilly here too this weekend, but we hope to get to the pool at some point.

What an exciting week! So many authors under your belt!
I might still do a Monday post and then link up with you on Tuesday. Thanks for providing it!

I hope the last couple of weeks of school don’t drag too much. We still have a month left here.
Aww! How lovely Jack got to hang out with your parents all day.
The Confirmation sounds like a lovely celebration. Well done your boys.

I think for teachers the end of the school year always feels that way. You’re on the home stretch though so hang in there. Congratulations to your boys on their confirmation. Enjoy the long weekend! I feel like Maryland weather never lived up to my Memorial Day expectations lol. Seems like my kids were always swimming under cloudy cool skies (although they didn’t mind).
