Happy Friday! Happy spring! I am so excited that it is spring! I am ready for longer sunny evenings with some sunshine in the morning, warmer weather, and more outside time. I do remember that spring can be chilly, so I keep all the coats in my car – my winter jacket, a lighter quilted jacket, a rain coat, a hooded sweatshirt jacket, and a few blankets for good measure. In addition to spring, I have some favorites for you today. Let’s get to it.

Favorite 1: RUNNING! I ran a few times this week and I am happy to be doing it. I am SLOW SLOW SLOW, but it’s ok because I am running more this month than I did last month. I am a good kind of running sore and looking forward to my next run!

Favorite 2: GOLF! I went to Jack’s golf match on Monday and Jeff went on Wednesday. He did a great job in both matches! The team won both and is undefeated so far this season. Woohoo! I love watching Jack play golf and walking around the course is lovely. My dad and Jeff’s dad came to both matches this weekend, so that was an added bonus to see them!

Favorite 3: SUN! We have had a good bit of sunshine this week and I love it! The wind has a chill to it, but the sun is starting to warm the air a bit and it feels so good! I wore my Sunny Days sweater to celebrate the first day of spring yesterday!

Favorite 4: CLOTHES! I decided that I need to get back to wearing more of the clothes in my closet. I have comfy shoes that aren’t sneakers and I need to remember them when I am getting dressed. This week I wore a dress I haven’t worn this year and a bright Lilly tee with a jacket I haven’t worn in a while either. It felt good to shop my closet.

Favorite 5: LUKE! Luke has been back to sports and activities this week and it’s been so good for him! He had two practices with his soccer team and one swim practice. I’ve had to remember how to get dinner on ready to go earlier, but seeing his soccer and swim friends has been great for Luke!
Favorite 6: BOOKS! I am in the middle of three books right now and I am enjoying them all. I am listening to a memoir by myself, I am listening to a FunJungle book with Luke, and I am reading a Sarah Adams book that I have had on hold at the library for weeks! When I have a chance to read before an appointment or waiting for Luke at practice, it’s a struggle to decide if I want to read or listen to my book. What a great problem to have!

Time got away from me this week! I was planning to write a Wednesday and a Thursday post, but that did not happen. Hopefully, I will remember how to do my regular routine next week and write a few more posts. I am looking forward to our weekend! Luke has a soccer tournament and maybe a lacrosse game. Jack will get to the golf course a bit. Our pool board is meeting and I’ve been hosting the meetings at our house lately since Jeff and I are both on the board. It’s just a little easier. I’m making a bunch of appetizers this time. Hopefully there will be some leftovers for lunch on Monday. Yum! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Thank you for reading and supporting Sunshine & Books!

Congrats to Jack and his team. I love your yellow sweater…perfect for this time of the year. Have a great weekend!
That is a good idea about keeping the coats in the car.
It sounds like you are really enjoying the running and good job to Jack with the golf.
We’ve had sunshine all week too and I am loving it. It’s still chilly but it’s still nice.
I am glad Luke is back to doing his sports.
Sounds like a busy, but good week! Our first day of spring was cool, but it does make a difference when the sun is shining. Enjoy your weekend!
That sounds like my car; I have a few coats some gloves, a scarf, etc… and I was really wishing I had grabbed those before heading out on our hike today! It was so cold and windy. It sounds like both boys are doing so well.
Brr, I bet it was cold for a hike on Friday! I always think it is better to be prepared than chilly!
