Friday Favorites – 7/5/24

Happy Friday! Happy 5th of July! This has been a great week and I soaking up as much July fun as I can! I have some favorites from the week so let’s get to it!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: 4TH OF JULY! I love the 4th of July! I love all of the red, white, and blue! I love getting together with friends! I love the day at the pool (or beach if we’re there)! I love our neighbors! We haven’t made big fireworks plans in years, but it always works out.

I was rocking the red, white, and blue all day. Here are a few of my outfits. Our swim team and local rec council colors are red, white, and blue so we have accumulated quite a bit of patriotic spirit gear!

The sky put on a little preview for the fireworks. Thursday’s sunset was gorgeous as we were walking around the neighborhood.

Favorite 2: BOOKS! This is the first week that we have been close to what our normal summer routine. Kids to swim team practice, us to the pool, home, kids to year round swim team practice, dinner, hang out at home. I’ve also had more reading time this week and I am loving my Summer Beach Reads. I’m reading my 7th book on that list right now and it’s good!

Favorite 3: POOL! Luke and I have been spending a lot of time at the pool. He has a group of friends that are there most days and has so much fun playing with them. I’ve been chatting with pool friends and reading a bunch. All four of us spend the 4th at the pool and Jeff was there on Wednesday, too. I am so glad that we are over swimmer’s ear for now! Jack is working at the pool now so he can get in during adult swim and it’s fun to see him in with us.

Favorite 4: NO SCREENS! In the summer, we watch more tv and are on our phones a bit more. That might be the only thing I do not love about summer. I decided that I’d had it this week and set a no screens in the morning this week. It was much louder at our house, but I am ok with it. The kids found ways to entertain themselves and we laughed a lot. While it’s not their favorite rule, I loved it!

Favorite 5: FAMILY! We were all together to celebrate my mom’s birthday last week. It was fun to see my sister for the third time in six weeks! We had a great day at the pool and a delicious dinner. It’s always fun to be together!

Favorite 6: LISTS! I have written more lists this week than I have during any other week of summer. I’m making packing lists, grocery lists, to do lists, lists of reminders for each day, and they are the only thing keeping Summer Sarah on track. I had the kids make a list and gave them lists, too. Watch out Jeff – you’re next on the list list!

Favorite 7: PELOTON! One of my summer goals was to get back to strength training. I’ve done a few 7:30 am live peloton classes to acheive this goal. I really like those classes because I will definitely get up and moving for a live class.

Favorite 8: FLOWERS! I’m a little later than usual, but I finally got some flowers in my planters. I changed it up a bit because the flowers I usually get were sold out. I really like the new flowers and hope they grow well together!

My hydrangeas are blooming and growing. I just love this pink color and seeing them every time I drive home!

Favorite 9: TOP COAT! It is no secret that I love Olive & June nail polish and the Super Glossy Top Coat. This spring, I ordered the Sparkle Fairy Top Coat and I love it! It’s hard to capture in a picture, but it adds a good bit of sparkle but not like glitter nail polish. Trust me, it’s great!

Favorite 10: FRIENDS!! I met some friends for dinner this week. The food was delicious, the wine was refreshing, and the conversations were even better than both! I love these girls and it is so fun when we finally get together!

Hello Monday
Currently/Wednesday Hodgepodge

We have a great weekend ahead of us. Of course, we have a summer swim meet on Saturday. We’ll have some pool time, some home time, and hopefully some beach time. Obviously I’ll be reading my Summer Beach Reads, but I am going to read a book or two from my school library too. I brought a few home from some of my favorite middle grade authors and I’m excited to read them this week. Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I think screens would be so hard to manage in the summer. It’s even hard for me as an adult! Hope you have a great weekend!

Lots of great favorites! I have been rocking more the white and blue since I have so little red in my closet but I did make my nails a festive red, white and blue with fireworks.

Love your red, white & blue outfits. Good job on limiting screen time! I’ve let my kids be a bit lazier lately which means more screen time – soon their high practices start (hayden at 6am!) so I’ve loosened up a bit on rules to let them indulge 😂need to rein it back in soon. I hope you have a great weekend.

What a great 4th of July you had! The fireworks look fab and I love your outfits!
We try to use screens less during the summer. It does us all no harm and we usually have a lot of fun without them.
How lovely to spend more time with family. It looks like a lot of fun.
