Friday Favorites – 5/31/24

Happy Friday! Happy last day of May!

Linking up with Erika and Andrea

Favorite 1: CONCERTS!! Luke had his band concert on Tuesday night and he crushed it! He had the most fun playing and you could tell. He did a fantastic job and was asked to play with the orchestra later in the evening.

Favorite 2: SWIM!! Luke moved up a group on the year round swim team so both boys practice at the same time. It was fun to drop them off together and hear their banter after practice. They now practice from 4-6 each afternoon which I love. It gives me 2 hours to be home alone with Jeff, run errands, get things done at home, and make dinner. They come in happy from the endorphins and hungry so no one complains about dinner. It’s a win for everyone!

Favorite 3: POOL!! The pool is open and I’ve been there every day but one. I don’t even wear a bathing suit every time but it is so fun to catch up with my summer friends!

Favorite 4: WORK!! Jack has been working already as a lifeguard and a swim coach at our pool. He did a great job in the guard chair and is officially ready to guard on his own. He hopped in the pool last night as a coach to swim along with the kids taking the swim team swim test. I am so proud of how Jack is managing his time and working!

Favorite 5: BOOKS! I am cooking through my first Summer Beach Read of the year and it is so cute! I picked The Rule Book by Sarah Adams to start because my hold came up at the library.

Favorite 6: CAFFEINE! There is no way I would be still typing this right now if there wasn’t a pretty hefty and steady supply of caffeine running through my veins. The end of the school year is a doozy for parents and it is a doozy for teachers. So, as a teacher parent, I am running on Diet Pepsi, some water, and a little bit of sleep. I know I will make it, I always do, but that caffeine is pretty necessary!

Monthly Musings – SUMMER

I am going to leave you with that quick list of favorites because the caffeine is starting to wear off and my contacts are drying out. We have a very low key weekend and I plan on spending at least 10 hours at the pool. I hope you have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
