Happy Monday! I’m here with Holly sharing some fun from our weekend. I hope you’ll link up with us for Hello Monday!

Our district had a teacher work day on Friday for the end of the semester. We got to work from home so i slept in a bit and went for a long walk outside before I started working. I was set up in our family room around 7:30 to start working. Luke had a friend over and I made the rule that they had to be outside the whole time. They packed up backpacks with all kinds of supplies and headed to the woods.

They came back over an hour later with soaking wet socks and big smiles. Luke and his buddy have had a lot of fun in the creek and woods over the years.
After my work day, we headed to pick up Jack at school. Jeff had plans with friends near his school Friday night and was going to stick around over there. It was absolutely gorgeous to be out in the sunshine, even in the car!
Both boys went to swim practice so I made 3 drives back and forth from the pool Friday.
On Saturday morning, I slept in a bit and got moving slowly. I made a to do list and it was full of little things that I had piled up over the past week or so. I had a bunch of returns to make around town so I took Jack to swim and ran some errands. Luke had opened all the upstairs windows to get some fresh air! Perfect!!

I stopped at home to unpack the car and went back to get Jack. He came home for lunch and then went to the simulator with Jeff.

Then I took Luke to swim. I went for a 3 mile walk and did some yoga while he was there. 90 minutes later, I picked him up. That’s 4 drives back and forth to the pool on Saturday and 7 for over two days! Thank goodness the pool is less than two miles from our house!

When we got home, I hopped in the cold plunge pod. We haven’t been able to plunge for the last two weeks because it’s been frozen!

I worked on that to do list and worked on my blog posts for the week. The kids played Wii games on the switch for a bit.

Jeff grilled steak and fish for dinner. The kids and Jeff played Clue (one of my least favorite board games) and I finished my book, Off the Map. I’ll share my review tomorrow, so be sure to check back in.

I got up early on Sunday morning and read for about 30 minutes in front of my HappyLight. I noticed that the gray weather has me feeling a little low, so I am breaking it back out for a while.
I met some friends for brunch on Sunday. I decided to dress more spring than cold winter.

We met around 11, so I made it lunch with a yummy cocktail. The restaurant still had their Christmas drinks so I had a cranberry blood orange mule and it was so good!

When I got home, Jeff and I got to work repairing our closet. This is going to be a multi day project, but hopefully we can finish it this week.

I spent the rest of the afternoon working on my blog posts for the week, doing a little school work, and watching football with Jeff and the boys.
It was a great weekend and I am ready for a great week. We have a busy week with some fun extras, but the five days of school routine will be good. I have plans to blog every day this week, so be sure to check back in. I’m sharing a reading update, a monthly recap, monthly goals, and of course my favorites. If you blogged today, be sure to link up below. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

Can’t hear Islands in the Stream without seeing David Beckham and Victoria dancing after watching the documentary! Love that sweater and the driving mocs! Details?
I haven’t seen the documentary, but I should watch it! The sweater is from the Lilly sale in August and the shoes are an Amazon find. Links coming soon!
What a productive weekend and so glad you fit in your “me” time too- ok tell me about the cold tub thing- is that supposed to be good for your muscles? You are a brave girl! Ha! 🙂
It is supposed to help with any inflammation. I think I am going to put a post together about it soon.
I love the Sunny sweatshirt you’re wearing!! Super cute! I still don’t know how you get in the cold plunge thing!! I hate cold water!!
Well, I do not love the cold water, but it does feel good afterwards. So it’s worth it to me. I am FREEZING for a while when I get out though and I don’t love that.
Interruptions to our normal schedule can be good, but getting back on schedule can also feel happy! We need that combination of both from time to time. 🙂
That’s a lot of driving back and forth! I remember doing that same thing when my boys were younger and playing sports. I remember one afternoon in particular, when I drove all over my town for about three hours before coming home for dinner one night. Between shuttling and picking up forgotten items, they kept me on the road! I’m so curious about the cold plunge pod- there must be some health benefits? Or does it just wake your body up? I don’t know if I could handle that! Thanks for hosting us each week!
The cold pod is supposed to help with any inflamation. I should gather the research and share it in a post soon. Thanks for the idea!
You must get up very early if you’ve had a lie in and long walk before starting work at 7.30! And wow, all that driving. Well done!
I usually get up around 5:10. I have to be at school at 7:15 on work days so I am pretty used to it by now.
That is a lot of trips to the pool! It sounds like you had nice warm-ish weather this weekend.
It sure was, but luckily it is 3.9 miles round trip.
That’s so awesome that you were productive with walk and yoga while your son was swimming! Sounds like a good weekend. I should have my books post out tomorrow.
Thanks! I try to make good use of the time when I am home alone!
Love your Sunday outfit!
Thanks! I was ready for some sun!
I love mules! A cranberry blood orange sounds really good!
