Happy Friday! Happy New Year to those of you here for the first time in 2024. I had a good week, but re-entry is tough! We went back to school on Tuesday and I was pretty tired after school each day!

Favorite 1: HAIR CUT! I only get my hair cut about once a year and it was time. I love letting it get a bit longer and then cutting a few inches off. There are three ways I know it’s time to get a hair cut: it gets a little flat on top, gets caught in my coat zipper, and gets caught in my armpit. I got all three signs last week, so I made an appointment. I always get my hair straightened when I get a cut. It’ll be back to curly this morning because I cannot go more than one day before washing it.
Favorite 2: GRANNY CHIC! I ordered the olive comfy outfit I shared last Thursday and loved it!
I gave it a try at school yesterday and am pleased to say it was great. The picture isn’t super because the pants look too long, but they aren’t. I call it Granny Chic because I was wearing sweatpants that look like a knit trouser and dressed it up with gold flats and some jewelry, just like a Granny might.
Favorite 3: GAMES!! We played Trivial Pursuit a few times since Christmas. My parents gave us the version that has adult cards and kid cards. It’s been so fun to get back to this favorite. Jeff and I used to read Trivial Pursuit cards to each other on car trips or when we were just hanging out. We love trivia and it was so fun to share it with the boys!
Favorite 4: SNOW EXCITEMENT! The weather forecasters have been going back and forth about snow this weekend. They have said everything from 6 inches to all rain. I don’t love snow and cold all the time, but all the speculation and excitement are entertaining. I have a feeling we’ll get a dusting or rain. The excitement is fun though!
Not Favorite 1: CLOSETS!! On Tuesday morning, I got my cardigan off the rack and walked out of the closet. Two seconds later… BAM!! The whole rack fell!
I had to get to work so I just gasped and walked away. I laughed a bit through the day and cleaned it up after school. I need to measure and do a bit of research to figure out what we are going to do in our closet next, so my clothes are all laying on the guest room bed for now.
We have a pretty quiet weekend coming up and I am hoping to use that time to get a few things done so I’m ahead for next week. We’ll see if the storm brings any snow our way. I hope your week has been wonderful! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

ALL of our closets that had those hangers did the same thing; for some of them we just bent the holder back into place and found some hook things that looked like giant c’s that we installed in the opposite direction and that seemed to do the trick for most of them. But for others that were really stuffed full and heavy we installed hanging track systems and they have been wonderful.
I haven’t played trivial pursuit in ages but I can remember playing a lot in high school and college (when I could earn a lot of those pie wedges!).
Your hair looks fabulous! Your olive green outfit? Diana would call that “coastal grandmother” and as she explains “it is such an esthetic right now” ha!! You look great 🙂

It is always exciting when it snows, we have had so much rain over the past couple of weeks that plenty of fields around me are flooded.
Oh no! That is a shame about your closet.
