Happy Wednesday! It’s the first Wednesday of the month and I am linking up with Jennifer to share five things I am currently doing. Each month we share five different things and I think it’s a fun way to think about what’s going on. Let’s get to the September fun!

I am loving…

how much Jack is loving high school so far. He’s only a few days in and the homework picked up last night, but it is great! He didn’t know a single kid at his high school and he’s making a bunch of friends, making plans outside of school, and loving water polo. It’s pretty good!

I am also loving how excited Luke was when he came home from his first day of 7th grade. He had a great day and is excited for a great year.

my end of summer books! I’ll share my reading update in a few weeks but my end of summer reading line up was STRONG!!

I am experiencing…

the boost after a good workout! I love to start my day with a good workout, but I don’t always do it in the summer. Now that I am back to work, I am back to my 5:15 wakeup Peloton workouts. It’s a great way to start the day!

In the spirit of keeping it real, I am also experiencing a little disappointment in myself. This summer I was planning to run regularly, take my first live Peloton class, and do the full set of Crest white strips. I didn’t do any of that so I am keeping them on my list.

I am dreaming…

of May 25, 2024. Is it too soon?

We had so much fun at the pool this summer! I love our swim team family, the every day crew, and the fact that the kids don’t care how old anyone is when they’re hanging out at the pool. I was sad to leave on Monday evening, but I know it’s going to be just as great next year.

I am (hopefully) eating…

less takeout this week. The week teachers go back to school is always a zoo at our house. The kids are gone for a few nights at Camp Gigi. I like to eat out for lunch every day. Evening activities are officially started. We end up eating a lot of takeout and takeout leftovers. I actually enjoy it, but by this week I am ready for some healthier, home cooked meals.

I am using ____ to decorate…

Books! The exciting thing about the beginning of the year in the school library is all the new books! I love to look out and see hundreds of brand new books on top of the shelves just waiting to be picked up, checked out, read, and loved! I had my first “Oh no!” yesterday when a classmate got to a book first. Oooo, it made my heart happy! Don’t worry, I found another book that I have a feeling that reader will love and encouraged them to talk about the books to each other. Reading love x2!

That was fun! I can’t wait to see what you are currently doing. If you blogged, I’ll check out your link on Jennifer’s post. If you didn’t, pop your answers in the comments. Have a great day full of sunshine and books!

I’m so glad your week is going good, and that everyone is off to a great start! I know I’m always sad when the pools closes as well…but honestly, after July, I don’t swim much. It’s usually too hot here, even to be in the water. I’ll miss having a tan, because I’ve been wearing a ton of dresses lately. Thanks for linking up today!

That’s wonderful that the first days of school have been great for Jack and Luke. I’m sure that warms your heart. Love your countdown to the first pool day of 2024!

So good to hear that everyone’s year is off to such a great start! I don’t think it’s ever too early to start the pool opening countdown.

I love a library and always have…books are my friend! I love all the adventures I can have through reading. Sounds like a wonderful summer. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a pool but a pool always made the summer better. So glad your kids are enjoying the new school year.
